and thanos is more like the wannabe husbando of death.

Thanos is the avatar of death; or rather was until he had his heart ripped out by Drax at the end of annihilation saga. It was confirmed later on when a new avatar of death had to be chosen.

I still don't get what Thanos has to do with the avengers as I never remember them interacting with each other.

I did miss hawkeye having a mask but at least they got rid of the purple costume.

I did have a issue with the actor playing hulk but only because he seems too old however the cheap shot hulk does to thor is always fun as he does that a lot I remember but I was waiting for him to call thor goldilocks.

The Infinity Gauntlet Saga pretty much touches EVERYONE in the Marvel universe.

Fantastic movie. Best Marvel film since Iron Man for me, and possibly #1 altogether. I missed a bit because I never got around to seeing Thor, but it was still awesome.

True and I remember reading that but that was like you said and it dealt with everyone in marvel and adding thanos would had worked more if they make a silver surfer movie I feel like and not something directly for the avengers when there are so many more they could had used.

Video has been removed but anyone else got it?

The theater I went to doesn't place enough time to hardly clean between movies let alone let people see the ending credits often and they turned the lights on just after the thanos part.

Not really important... but just in case

It's the entire team sitting in the remains of a diner, just eating. It's funny because they're all in costume, are just wrecked from the battle, and all have this bored deadpan look on their face while their just chewing. Simple.... but it's still funny.

edit: this link is still working http://www.hypable.com/2012/05/04/watch-the-avengers-after-credits-scene-where-tony-gets-his-wish/

I thought it was weird that it came out in England first. I mean, you guys do get some movies before us, but that's because they're not Hollywood movies.

can't wait for more!

There should definitely be more. the box office outside of the states already covered the production costs and them some. After next weekend the promotion costs might be covered as well.

Greek, Roman, Japanese, all the gods are there in Marvel. Heck they even had a comic where Jesus was fighting Zeus. Also I actually prefer that the Avengers and the newer Marvel movies are being true to the comics versus a reboot of a character that leaves behind the rich background of a comic character's past.

Marvel actually has a hierarchy of beings that makes sense.

To sum up, without getting into ridiculous details:

* Multiversal abstracts: At this level you have multi-Eternity, The One Above All, Living Tribunal, etc.
* Universal abstracts: At this level you have Eternity, Death, Oblivion, Infinity etc.
* sub-abstracts: Here you have beings that could be considered abstracts but still have some sense of a normal being. People like Galactus, the Celestials, etc. fall into this tier. For example, in Marvel during one of the visits of the Celestials, all of the Gods of Earth got together to fight the Celestials and still got their asses handed to them. Galactus during his fight with his creation Tyrant literally destroyed entire galaxies as a result of their epic battle.
* Skyfathers: This level has all of the uber-gods and higher ordered beings. Odin, Zeus, and other beings that by themselves could fight off a whole legion of lesser powered gods.
* Top Tier: This category belongs to the like of Thor, the Hulk, and other beings that by themselves could potentially get to the planet-busting level.

Thanos would sit somewhere between Top Tier and Skyfather. In the comics, he fought Odin for a long time and stood his ground, he was on the losing end of the fight but there aren't many people that can go toe to toe with Odin for that long and hold their own.

Thanos has gotten above your "Skyfather" level before. In one comic he fought with Tyrrant and stood his ground, with the help of one of an energy sphere he stole from Tyrrant.

maybe, maybe not, international cut of profits is much less than domestic.

I think we should get the english films first. E.g. Prometheus, Dark Knight Rises and Skyfall.

DKR is supposedly set in the US. I assume it was filmed in the US. It's based on properties that are owned by US companies, and produced / distributed by Warner Bros. How is DKR an "English film?"

You know, it's directed by an Englishman, starring an Englishman, written by an Englishman, co-starring an Englishman, the villain is played by an Englishman a hell of a lot of it is shot in the UK...

The money might be American but the talent is English.

Edit: and two thirds of the producers are English.
