Before BIOS I got 11039 on 3Dmark 06, after flashing I got 11141. I'll take that for free baby!

Intriguing, maybe there were some bugs in the last version I posted (I didn't notice any). Anywho, today there's a new release available on Intel's website:

Sigmatel audio driver released today. Seems to fix Vista explorer.exe crashes:

I got the same package deal thru Intel. Have you noticed that cold boot up is unbelievable slow?

I've tried using the new bios, but can't say that anything has improved.

I got one of these cheap from a Retail Edge reseller. Perfect for my needs.

Intel's cranking out a new BIOS every couple days lately. They're up to 0372 now. I'm a couple iterations behind. 0345 works fine with an E8400 and XPSP2. 0326 is the minimum for a Penryn.

That was the first impression I got. The BIOS screens seem a bit "off" in response. Still workable, but just that, "off". Is that also common?

One thing I searched around for but really havent gotten a good answer to was the high ICH temps. Normal to be in the 70's? Aftermarket HSF an option or good idea?
