Question new bluray internal drive

ok so finally i have flipped my 360mm AIO to make way for bluray drive. Which one should i buy LG WH16NS40 or ASUS BW-16D1HT. Which one is more reliable and will have longer life span

Not sure what your intended usage for it, since most current PC no longer use optical disk burners IIRC.

I have the LG WH16NS40 with firmware 1.02 (UHD friendly) which can read 4K/UHD blu-rays and playback encrypted physical disk on a PC with the correct software without the need of decrypting (copyright protection).
So far it works great for my usage, but I haven't burned any CDs, DVD, or 1080p/4K blu-rays (25GB/50GB) for quite a while.

Yes, PowerDVD 20 Ultra and DVDFab Player 6 (which I prefer) too. I think you need specific hardware - processors, graphics card and TV/monitor for playback. HDCP 2.2 content protection.

That Asus one might well be the drive I've got. For playback it's been fine so far, haven't tested writing at all, but read performance isn't great at all. Any non-BR ripping I do is always on my older DVD drive.

I do not think if you buy bluray drive official then downgrade firmware for 4k uhd, will be read by powerdvd directly without ripping

Lg is costing me 13000 rupees while asus only 9900rupees
