I will be starting my build later this month and need help choosing parts. I have an OS already from Windows Feedback Program. I still need a monitor, keyboard, mouse etc.
I hope to use the computer for everyday use and light gaming. As such, any video card over an 8600gt will not be needed. The monitor should be preferably 22''. Budget is $750 to $800 and must include shipping.

I don't know whether to use Amd/Intel and what is the best bang for the buck components right now. I need Help.

Thanks.

Monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16824009094
At that cost, the AMD 780G board is probably a good option. Roughly $100. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813128090
Pick up an AMD processor of your choice. The 5000+ Black Edition is about $80, but you can probably go cheaper. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819103194
2x1GB DDR2-800 memory is really cheap, like $20-30 after rebates. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820227139
A DVD burner will run about $30. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16827118004
Can't think of a better combo for a case/PSU than the Antec Sonata III. $110-130, maybe less if you the rebate from Buy.com http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16811129024
The Western Digital 640GB is on sale for $100, but I don't know how long that'll last. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16822136218

I just put that all in my cart. Total after shipping and tax from Newegg (for CA residents) came to $763.60, and you still get a $20 MIR. But i didn't get a mouse, keyboard, or speakers.

The video card isn't really necessary considering you have one. If you're going to buy a video card, you might as well go the Intel route.

You'll want a Heatsink/fan to go with the 5000+ BE, since it comes bare, even retail.

This one'll prolly do for no-OC budget build.

If you look in the Hot Deals section, Newegg newsletter subscribers were recently offered 6000+ with HSF for $85. Might see if that's still going.

I recently built up a couple of nearly identical (AMD vs Intel) $700 builds for my roommate. Might be able to shave a bit offa some parts of those builds to afford your monitor. I'll check it out this evening.

Here they are, in case you're interested.
AMD
Intel

I haven't updated the AMD to include a HS/F yet. Likely won't go that route, anyways, since all research indicates that the Intel build is much better than the AMD.

LesterOfPuppets thank you for linking those builds. I really like both and a small change in the video card and case might make it fit my budget.

I do not think I will be buying parts until next week so I will miss out on that x2 6000.
