Well, the Graphics card is overkill for most games. What monitor do you have?

What are you planning on doing with the system beyond gaming? I believe that it is generally considered, for most all applications, that it is better to have a faster Dual Core than a slower Quad Core.

I highly recommend Seagate drives, but the Hitachi is a pretty good choice.

If you get the Retail version of the CPU (about the same price as the OEM usually) you get a better warranty and an included heatsink that will handle most all tasks.

Are you planning on overclocking at all?

I dont understand overclocking quite yet. i updated my post ive chosen to go with Duo core

Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 Wolfdale 3.33GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80570E8600 - Retail

Im new so i havent chosen a monitor mind recommending one thats within the 200$ range no higher really than 250$

Ill be using this computer to get me through college but mainly gaming. Im going to be using it for mmo's

Oh and keeping mmo's in mind what should be fine for playing warhammer do i need 2x 4870's or what?

Alright, well, do not edit the original post, just make a new post that way others can also off their advice on what you were originally thinking.

The reason I asked about the monitor is because a high end, current gen GPU like the GTX 280 or the 4870 are best utilized by playing your games on a larger monitor (resolution wise). So, 1920*1200 and up probably.

And to say that you are going to play MMOs is a little too vague. There is WoW, which is not that graphics intensive, my 6800 handled it beautifully. Guild Wars can be played on basically any card better than the GeForce 3, so pretty much any modern card will do. Age of Conan apparently is relatively GPU intensive, so that you might want to consider something above say... a 7800.

That CPU should be great, but what is your overall budget here?

My budget is 1400$ And Im really only going to play Age of conan and / or Warhammer online.

I changed my GPU into X2 EVGA 896-P3-1262-AR GeForce GTX 260 Superclocked Edition 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

I just need to know if all of my parts will work together, im trying to get my list of parts finalized soon.

I would like a 20in or 22in monitor that would take advantage of my GPU but i dont want to spend more than around 200$ for it. If i have to ill go to 250$

All of that should work together just fine. The chipset on the motherboard is one of the newest so should work great with the Wolfsdale CPU without needing to update the BIOS or anything.

In your post above (about the GTX260), are you saying you're looking to buy two of them for SLI?

If you are, and you're looking to get a 20-22" monitor for around $200, don't. Especially if you're "only" playing Age of Conan and Warhammer Online. A single GTX260 will be more than plenty at that resolution - even at 1900x1200 (24" monitor).
