either bad mobo or ram... while you have the mobo, buy a cheap ram kit for 40 bucks and see if it still crashes, its likely one of two things, another bad pair of ram sticks or a bad mobo... i say its the ram

run the ram at 9.9.9.28 2N @ 1.5v
turn off the Vcore Auto and set it to 1.2v - no overclocking either

I would guess its the ram... but that's only a guess...

try loosening the timings again, this time to 9.9.9.28 @ 1.5v - 2N

If you are still under warranty or 30 day return policy, i suggest just going the RMA route and if you don't want to wait for replacements for ~ 2 weeks, just buy new stuff and do the RMA as a refund, if you can.

Ah, ok, i was wondering about who was asking, hah

Is the BIOS up to date? should of asked this before.. this might make a difference..

Have you tried the suggestion of running the ram at 9.9.9.28 @ 1.5v 2N ???

Is the HS&F securely fastened?

The GPU seated correctly?

All the Power connectors securely tightened on all the components? e.g. 24pin MB , 8 pin CPU, etc.

Sorry to answer your question with questions.. just trying to help..

Did you ever check to see if the fan was running at a BSOD?

Hopefully it was then that would mean that it wasn't shutting down due to heating up thus causing your BSOD. Rightfully again this raises the question as to when you were trying to boot into safe mode: whether or not if the machine was cool or not and hopefully it was running.

You didn't try your backup PSU first? or do you not have one? This you should of done while trouble-shooting this machine.

dont believe heat was an issue, when i removed the heatsink it looked fine the paste was even and in full contact i would have rather had the gigabyte P67 UD4 anyway, which is what i ordered along with some gskill ripjaw 1.5v memory, ill see what happens, if im still having problems ill move onto something else

thanks
for all your help

Was the PSU heating up is what I was getting at. Maybe the fan on the PSU wasn't spinning and it shut down due to overheating, thus causing the BSOD. But good to know the CPU was cool.
