Ah, I left an important detail out of my router post- My new trading computer will be wired, it is my basement's media center pc that will not. Currently, that PC is on a wired connection, but obviously trading takes precedence over downloading movies/music/youtube on the 40 inch.
The 22" acers are actually way too big and will take up too much of my room. I think I'll pick up the 3 Viewsonic 19", the real estate is plenty for me. I have a 20" viewsonic, and charts on that look great, even slightly too big.
Also I like the idea of having 2 9600GT's, it gives me flexibility if I ever feel gaming during trading hours, lol. Plus I can afford 2 cards for $160, so that's not an issue.
All in all I've calculated that this will run me $1600, $900 less than my maximum price point.
I will post a full revised list of all the parts I will be getting, either later tonight or tomorrow. Thanks a lot for the help, you guys have saved me a lot of time I would've spent researching and reading and got me relatively caught up to date in only 2 days.
Will I have to put the thermal compound on the cpu myself or does it come with it on already? It's no problem putting it on, it's just a friend of mine who just built a new machine told me his was already on and he just put the heat sink on.
Also, anyone have a recommendation for speakers under $100?
***In reply to jjsole, the volatility is exactly why I'm building this machine now. I trust the charts, technical analysis is my friend, so I have no problem switching my puts to calls at any second of the day if the situation requires. Hell, I've had to sell a lot of puts in the past to cut my losses, being nimble is key in successful trading.
