A64 3000+ NC @ 2300 mhz
DFI LP UT250gb
1024 Kingston HyperX
BFG 6800 OC @ stock

With all the visuals on I get inadequate performance at 1280. What would you guys suggest I do for better performance? Is it worth it to pick up a GT to replace the NU?

it should be running smooth with that set up. What you might be experiencing may be internet lag? Also try to run WOW with as few applications running in the background as possible. And adjust Windows for best performance. Although the AMD 64 CPU is great for games it has a low threshold when multitasking.

Maybe get a better heatsink and fan to try and increase your overclock. 2.3Ghz is fast, but 2.5 would scream!

check your bios settings....install newest video drivers....U said it was just built, well chances are all bios settings are set on default, which suck.....
Maybe cool n'quiet function is enabled in bios, which sucks....

video drivers are very important as well..!! u can download the newest from your manufacturer's website

oh shit, i see u already overclocked it quite a bit, well forgive me for giving this noobish advise!!!

and for god's sake,, how do i change that picture above my name lol

hmm...try running the aquamark3 benchmark, Its a very balanced cpu/graphiccard benchmark, or so it seems...world of warcraft seems very cpu intensive, run the demo, u will get a cpu score and a graphic card score, that way you can find out a little bit where the problem lies,

download the free demo at : http://www.aquamark3.com

im scoring about 72.000 hehe

oh and thx azzy64, i cant believe i didnt see that before lol! the pictures all kinda suck, but i havent seen the parrot much so lol

I have a Barton 2500@3200, BFG 6800GT OC, 1024mb mushkin ram, Abit AN7 mobo. I run at 1600x1200 with everything set to max and I have no framerate or quality issues, except when it's due to lag (like near the city of Ironforge).

Can you describe the problems you're having? Slow framerate? Choppy graphics? Make sure you have "Full screen glow" DISABLED, as it seems to turn off your graphics card's anti-aliasing features with it enabled.

What are your current AA/AF settings? What version of nvidia drivers are you using?

YOUR COMPUTER SHOULD RUN THOSE SETTINGS EXCELLENTLY.
If anything drop the AA. If performance is still poor, then it is definitely an internet connection issue.

My brother runs WoW on a Celeron 600mhz with 512mb of PC100 SDRAM and a GeForce2 MX440. It runs well on medium settings except for in Ironforge. The parts look fine, its your settings/drivers that are the problem.

Yea I'd agree that something's up, I run an athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.2GHz and a Radeon 9800 Pro 256 megs. 1280x1024 Reso, max settings except ansiotropic filtering. Occasionally get a lil video lag, but not often at all.

Yea wth....running winamp slows it down alot. Its not internet lag because I'm using the fps counter (ctrl + r). As for my oc I can't seem to push it any further atm...unless one of you can help me fix what I'm doing wrong if anything...I'm using the Zalman CNPS 7000 cu.

Fps is usually around 60s~ at 1280 w/ all settings on but w/ winamp and in certain areas I get sudden dips to the 30~ range which results in some choppiness.

The bios setting have already been adjusted by me so I turned all that crap off already . Video drivers are the latests from nv as of 2 weeks ago. I am using version 6 14 10 6693.

Gamerj I believe you can change your avatar through your profile options.

Of course I installed my chipset drivers azzy. 3dmark01 gives me ~21k.

Will try aquamark when my mage hits lvl 40 <3.

Yes I have treid unlocking my 6800. No go...was first thing I tried. AA/AF are disabled atm.

Sorry about having all my responses together. But please see if you have any more input. Me gona lvl up my mage some more brb.

here's an idea....don't use winamp.....!!!!

If you had a P4 with HT enabled you might be ok but you are using an A64.....no HT available and it doesn't cope too well with multitasking!!!! try playing the game withoyut winamp running in the background and I think you will be surprised at your results
