ooh that makes my choice even harder... I was actually looking at this mobo before i decided on the Hero. Only thing that scares me is i currently have the MSI Big Bang X Power right now and only after 3 months of use one of the memory slots went bad which left a sour taste in my mouth.

Any motherboard of any brand can have problems. One experience is not statistically significant.

Even so, a GA-Z87X-UD3H isn't much more expensive.

Also, unless you do heavily multithreaded work all the time, LGA2011 isn't so great to get into.

Some poor choices here:

- Mobo/CPU: Costs $580 and doesn't do anything more than the $430 GA-Z87X-UD3H + i7 4770K.
- GPU: Fast, but a bad value at $650 compared to a $350 7970 GHz.
- RAM: DDR3 2133 doesn't do much for a system with a discrete GPU and that RAM runs at 1.6V, which is out of spec. Plus it has super tall heatspreaders which will get in the way of a HSF. Instead of spending $150, you could have spend $98 on some Kingston DDR3 1600 with normal heatspreaders and voltage.
- SSD : Good, and at $250 certainly less egregious than the other choices. That being said, I'd rather have the greater performance consistency of a Neutron GTX 240GB for $220.

So yeah, all told I would probably cancel that order. My choices are $532 less expensive, which leaves plenty of room for 7970 GHz CFX and a beefy PSU if needed. The Crossfire system would be less expensive and completely knock the socks off what you have.

Thank you for your input and i would of definitely gone with what you have listed if i was on a budget. This build i kind of just went balls to the walls and just ordered off of reviews and what people on this forum as well as tom's hardware had to say. I considered the 7990/7970 GHz edition, however other people have reported that ATI has plagued with driver problems and i've gotten from numerous people that the GTX 780 is definitely one of the best cards out there. I ran MSI GTX 580 twin frozr's in my last setup and they caused massive heat issues therefore i wanted to stay to a single card setup for now. In regards to cooling i'm using the Corsair H100 water cooling system so i don't think it'll have any problems with the memory modules. I was debating between the kingston ram i got and the Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB 1600MHz, however the corsair memory was more expensive so i decided to go with the kingston instead. Again i don't mean to disrespect you in any way and i value your opinion and input!

Thank you for being so gracious in your response.

I don't think that being on a budget or not really has anything to do with my choices. It's all about how much performance you get out of a given amount of money. Your build certain has more "bling", but mine is faster.

It's the same difference between a Civic with a fancy paintjob and underbody lighting, and a Taurus SHO. The SHO is less pretty to look at, but it pwn's the Civic every day.

All i can say is holy crap a SSD makes a HUGE difference... I got all my parts and put everything together and i was surprised how everything booted up perfectly fine and there were no hiccups! I'm usually used to a DOA memory module or the mobo bios being upset with something and getting the BSOD, etc. However this was the first time when everything ran perfectly! I'm so happy with this build! Ran 3DMark11 and got a score of P13392 no idea if that's good or bad.
