Well, I finished a new build last week and am experiencing an extreme situation that I don't know how to resolve - hoping someone can help...
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DQ6
Memory: Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
Graphics: GIGABYTE GV-NX86S256H
Drives:
WD 150GB Raptor (boot drive)
(2) WD 500GB (WD500KS)
Samsung 18X DVD±R DVD Burner (SATA)
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-520HX
Case: Antec Solo
CPU: Intel 6850 C2D
CPU HeatSink: Thermalright Ultra-120A
Fans: Nexus 120mm and 92mm Real Silent fans
First thing I should say is that the boot drive came from my old system, so it already had WinXP Pro installed. I was able to boot up, into WinXP and just had re-register, but it worked with my old serial number. Some strange things were happening, but in general things seemed ok. That was Friday. I turned the PC on yesterday and got nothing - no boot screen, no windows, no nothing. The fans spun up, I could hear the boot drive seek briefly, but nothing happened on the screen. My monitor is an old (4yrs) ViewSonic 19" LCD, but works fine. It just says " NO SYNC". I tried disconnecting all the drives but the boot drive, still nothing. So I took out the graphics card and put in my old Gigabyte 128MB Nvidia card and booted up, nothing. So then I went down to BB and picked up a new DVI cable, thinking maybe the cable had shorted out. Still no love.
At this point I'm out of ideas. I've checked all the connections on the motherboard and everything appears to be connected just fine. I don't know what I should check for an issue like this - haven't seen it happen before! Any ideas?
Thanks for the help - I'm desparate...
