I'm getting ready to build a new PC. This will be for office work, internet and some light photoshop and lightroom use. No gaming at all. Here is what I'm considering, please make any comments, it's been a while since I've built something and I'm not completely up on what's best

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400g
GPU: integrated graphics
Motherboard: MSI B450i Gaming Plus AC Mini ITX
Memory: G. Skill Ripjaws V Series 2x8gb DDR4-3200
SSD: Intel 660p 1 tb NVMe
HDD: Western Digital 4 tb 5400rpm
Case: Fractal Design Define Nano S
Power Supply: Corsair CX 450w 80+ Bronze
Monitor: I'm really thinking about the Samsung UR59C, 4k, 32" slightly curved

Some reasons for the choices: My budget is $1000 max, excluding the monitor. We need a new desktop but we don't use one nearly as much as we used to so I'm trying to find the sweet spot of good components and value for a reasonable price. The main driver is the Nano S case. I wanted a small footprint on the desktop and really like the Nano S so that requires mini ITX. AMD cpu seems like good value for low intensity use but I'm not wedded to AMD, I also thought about an i3 or i5. I understand the Ryzen cpus can use the higher speed memory and several reviews said G. Skill is a good choice for Ryzen, 16gb because i want enough ram for image processing. SSD prices are low enough that a 1tb mainstream drive like the 660p seems worth the small extra money.

Thanks for any input.

Here is what I would go with:
CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 3400G - $149.99 Based on Zen+ architecture and a little higher clock speed than Ryzen 5 2400G. Only $20 more than 2400G
Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty B450 GAMING-ITX/AC - $119.99 - Has a better audio chipset and uses an Intel NIC
Memory: Corsair Vengance LPX CMK16GX4M2Z2933C16 16 GB DDR4-2933 (The official max memory speed without it being considered overclocked) Also, the memory is low profile - $78.99
SSD: Plextor M9Pe M.2 2280 1TB NVMe - $119.99 - The Intel 660p uses QLC NAND and is terrible. If you decide to get the Intel, be sure and turn off System Protection or performance will be terrible. I generally prefer Samsung SSDs, but SSDs with the Marvell chipset have also worked well for me as well and the Plextor has a Marvell chipset.
HDD: WD Black 6TB Performance Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM WD6003FZBX - $197 - 7200 RPM Hard drive with 256 MB cache so data files will transfer faster than 5400 RPM, plus 2 more TB. The 4 TB 7200 RPM w 256 MB cache model is $160
Power Supply: Seasonic FOCUS Plus Series SSR-550FX 550W 80+ Gold - $84.99 - It's fully modular (which you want for an ITX build), is Gold rated, and has a 10 year warranty. It is also only 140mm like the Corsair so good for an ITX build. There is also a $25 rebate if purchased from Newegg by August 19.
Case: I like your choice. I might have to pick one up myself.

The Plextor drive you recommend for $119 is actually the PX-1TM9PeGN, so it slower than the versions with a heatsink or add-in card (thermal throttling).

A much better, and newer drive like the MyDigitalSSD BPX PRO ($109), Corsair MP510 ($129), or the HP EX920 ($120) are much better (performance, heat, power).

Thanks for the replies, I didn’t know the 3400g was available yet definitely worth $20 more. Good information about the SSD and power supply. I’ll be revising some things.

Just watch out and make sure the BIOS version of the B450 motherboard has a current enough version of BIOS in order for that CPU to work. The BIOS version has to be 3.30 or newer (June 4, 2019).

If not, you will need an older Ryzen CPU in order to be able to boot your PC. Otherwise, you can get a loaner CPU from AMD in order to do this: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100

Seconded. Just be aware that BPX drives can run a little hot sometimes . . . I think they're getting better about that with their newer Pro line though. My old 480GB BPX is a wee bit toasty under heavy use. It can be made to throttle.

After considering the bios situation with latest gen Ryzen cpus I've decided to go with Intel for this build. I've taken account of comments above and here is my current build, again any comments are welcome.

Intel Core i3-8100
ASRock H370M-ITX/ac mini ITX motherboard
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2x8gb ddr4-2666
HP EX920 1tb NVMe M.2 drive
Western Digital Red 4tb 5400rpm HDD
Fractal Design Nano S case
SeaSonic 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

That totals about $630 at current prices.

BIOS situation? Okay, it's your loss. The i3-8100 is not a very compelling CPU anymore I'm afraid. I wouldn't go with less than a hexcore (i5-9400 or similar).

I've thought about an i5 but the use is undemanding and sporadic, I think it would be overkill for what I need.
