Hey guys,
I just put together a fairly cheap system with an Asus P5VDC-X and an intel D 915 2.8 with some "G Skill" 1gb ram. I keep having this issue where Windows will crash and give me a stop error with "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" with the 0x000000a
Now here's the thing, it usually happens right when the Windows desktop is coming up. If it doesn't happen then, then the system is usually fine for a while. It doesn't happen at every start up, maybe 75% of the time.
What could be causing this? Some quick searching said either overheating CPU or bad ram possibly. The CPU is staying steady at ~45C, so everything seems fine there. The ram is brand new, but it is sort of an off brand, so maybe it's bad? Should I RMA it?
Any help is MUCH appreciated.
Thanks!
Dan
Edit: I downloaded memtest86 and the instant it comes up on the screen the system crashes. Memory?
