hello

i'm in the market for a new car and was wondering if anyone could provide me with good advice, or point me to an internet site that could give me good advice on buying a new car
i'd like to avoid the haggling at the dealership as much as possible....

and, where's the best place to get a car loan? at the bank? or at the dealership?
i have pretty good credit so i'm not worried about getting turned down...

Advices: ALWAYS get the dealer paid price (invoice price) and negotiate up from there, NEVER use the sticker price and negotiate down. Get car loan from your local bank or credit union unless you can qualify for the cheap 0% special rate at the dealer such as GM/Ford.

PM me if you have any questions. I only paid $50 over the invoice price for my last new car. Good luck and remember, PREPARE to walk away if you don't think you have the best deal or you think the dealer didn't treat you right.

Svnla makes some good points. I'd hit up Edmunds.com and a few other car sites and get internet price quotes from several local dealers. Also make sure you talk to your local credit union to see what kind of APR financing they can get you.

I hate to hassle too and I got my car for $400 under invoice last year through an internet quote. My dad is about to get the same car for the same price from the same dealer. I got mine for 1.9% APR financed from the dealer. (The lowest I could get elsewhere was about 5.25% APR) The dealer isn't necessarily a bad place to get financed from - you just have to make sure they're not screwing you over. You also have to push their buttons - mine said 9.9% was the best I qualified for which I said "that's horsesh!t" - 5 minutes later the 1.9% Honda Financing was offering was on the contract.
