I put $1500 down. The stock tires are Yokohama Avid S34D.
Everytime I see a smiling Mazda 3 - I think to myself - now that cars got some sugar in its tank!
I thought the interior was dated and way too plasticky for the premium they ask for one of these. Gas mileage is not the best either for a compact and the Nav screen is a miniscule 3.5"s.
I think the new Cruze, Focus, and Elantra are better. The 3 does excel in being sporty and has a big engine though!
OP: man up and buy some winter tires for the winter, or better yet a dedicated wheel/tire set.
You sure you can get your down payment back?
Thanks I like it a lot... but I think I'm gonna pressure the dealer into putting 4 different tires on it for me.. for free. The stock tires leave a lot to be desired. I've heard and read nothing but bad things about them.. especially in rain and snow.
If they don't, I'll cancel the loan, give them the car back, and demand back my down payment. You can do that in Wisconsin within 30 days of purchase.
Congrats! Mazda 3 is a fantastic car.
Maybe not all of it.. but that would only matter if they're not going to put a good set of rubbers on.
can you answer my question? is the "law" you are refering to the lemon law?
This just seems silly. If you're willing to sacrifice some or all of a $1500 down payment, just buy the new tires yourself if you want them that badly.
Also, if the tires are brand new, don't forget that they probably still have mold-release compound to wear through before they'll really perform correctly.
