enjoy it!

Are you sure Wisconsin has a 30 day return on car purchases? the WI DOT website doesn't have anything listed other than the lemon law and 3 day cool-off return if not purchased at the dealership.

Everytime I see a smiling Mazda 3 - I think to myself - now that cars got some sugar in its tank!

I thought the interior was dated and way too plasticky for the premium they ask for one of these. Gas mileage is not the best either for a compact and the Nav screen is a miniscule 3.5"s.

I think the new Cruze, Focus, and Elantra are better. The 3 does excel in being sporty and has a big engine though!

I don't at all find the interior "plasticky".. especially compared to other vehicles in its class. It's got that "built in Japan" look and feel. Neither the Cruze, Focus, nor Elantra... to say nothing about the Civic and Corolla.. can be had with must-have features (for me) like HID projector headlights and LED taillights. The swiveling left/right of the headlights when you turn is an added bonus.

I'm also not thrilled with the Focus's dual clutch transmission or the intrusiveness of its My Ford Touch system.. the Cruze's boringness.. or the Elantra's way-too-overwrought styling. The smiley face on new Mazdas may be polarizing; something people either love or hate, but it doesn't try too hard to be different-but-likable like the Elantra does.

OP: man up and buy some winter tires for the winter, or better yet a dedicated wheel/tire set.

Man up? I'm plenty manned up. I've had dedicated winter tires and wheel/tire sets... and the Continental DWS all-season is a better fit for how I drive; roads aren't snow-covered all winter long... I want something that still handles well for the 90% of most winters when the roads are dry or merely wet.

Thanks I like it a lot... but I think I'm gonna pressure the dealer into putting 4 different tires on it for me.. for free. The stock tires leave a lot to be desired. I've heard and read nothing but bad things about them.. especially in rain and snow.

If they don't, I'll cancel the loan, give them the car back, and demand back my down payment. You can do that in Wisconsin within 30 days of purchase.

are you refering to the lemon law? because tires not functioning to your expectation does not fall under the lemon law.

Stupid Mazda had the best looking Japanese cars before that damn smiley face.

At least it does not look quite as bad up close.

Maybe not all of it.. but that would only matter if they're not going to put a good set of rubbers on.

This just seems silly. If you're willing to sacrifice some or all of a $1500 down payment, just buy the new tires yourself if you want them that badly.

Also, if the tires are brand new, don't forget that they probably still have mold-release compound to wear through before they'll really perform correctly.

I'm not sacrificing more of it than the cost of a new set of tires.

They are new. Everything I've read about this particular tire model.. from people who've put thousands of miles on them.. is that they're horrible on wet roads, unusable on snowy/slushy roads, and wear out very quickly. If that's not the definition of a shitty all-season tire, I don't know what is.
