Looks pretty slick...but I'm kind of cautiously pessimistic considering all of the 3D Castlevania games up to and including CV: Judgement have been kind of a flop. Which reminds me, I still need to finish CV:LoI and CV:CoD (bought them a long time ago just to round out my collection).
Lament of Innocence got decent reviews and Curse of Darkness did ok.
I didn't hate LoI, but I always thought it could've been a much better game if it were on better hardware. There were just too many of the exact same corridor and the combo set was too limited/repetitive. Basically, the game just need to be bigger and more varied and I think next gen systems can do that much better than the ps2 could..
I'm playing the DS game, Portrait of Ruin now and it's pretty badass and every bit as good as SoTN was. I'd much rather be playing it on my TV than my gf's handheld though.

order of ecclesia was awesome and I'm probably the only one but I like it better than SOTN
I don't know if I agree (SotN had an amazing musical score, for example), but I think I might understand why.
SotN got ridiculously easy pretty quickly due to Alucard becoming way overpowered. Both OoE and CotM were noticeably harder, and beating the bosses (especially Giant Enemy Crab) ended up feeling more satisfying than spamming Soul Steal or Crissaegrim in SotN.
Yea, you're right.. Crissaegrim totally breaks the game. There's no point in playing anymore, nothing can touch you.
I do still remember my first time through the game when it was genuinely scary. Infact, playing PoR is bringing that feeling back because I'm dying a lot.. creeping around an unfamiliar castle with 3 hp, no potions, hoping to find a save spot every single time I pass to a new screen is a feeling I haven't had since the 90's
