New CD-RW Drive Copy Problem

I just installed a new cd-rw drive by digital research, 48x-16x-48x. When first installed I was able to copy both Die Hard and Max Payne one time. When trying to make another backup copy of either, (both purchased by me) , I can copy the disks but none of them play. I used clone CD ver. 4.01.10 for all attempts. The only thing I installed since making the first copies was a newer version of Nero. When installing it I was notified that I had some Adaptec software on my system and needed to delete it, which I did.

hi. r u sure u were able to copy these games before with this same cdrw? also try on another old cdrw drive if u have one. and on a friend's rw system to make sure its not cdrw drive or nero s/w doing this.

also there are 'ignore crc check error' thing and like, maybe u can enble that and give it a try.

Absolutley sure of the original copies, ran both games from the copies fine. And yes, they were made on this drive, as my old drive would not write raw data and that , along with speed, is why I rplaced it.

That happened to me when I updated Clone CD, my games would copy but not play.
I went back to an older version and all is well.

Billyjack, I tried an older version-same results. I have a tech support request sent to clone cd, I hope they can tell me what's wrong.

When u cloned the CD, did u check the read subchannel data and audio. Also there is a possibility that your burner does not burn safedisc protected games properly. I'm pretty sure max payne uses safedisc. Almost all liteon burners can burn safedisc protected games properly.

Go to Game Copy World and check out the links for copying CD's. Also make sure you check your specific bruner to make sure that it'll copy stuff that might be copy protected. This is of course, assuming you have the orignal copies and they belong to you...

Problem resolved- Clone-Cd sent me an e-mail and said to try turning off In-Cd on startup... Guess what-it worked. I burned two copies each of Max Payne and Die Hard withouot a coaster. I also did not save the cd-image so I had to read the cd's a second time.

By the way, Digital Research burner only $60 at Best Buy. Don't know how well it will hold up, but for the price I' willing to find out.
