But it's not the usual buy x CDs for xx.xx dollars. It's just any CD on this site for $6.99. I bought one.

it says no shipping and handling, but when i put a CD in the cart, this shows up:

Allow 10-14 business days for delivery.
Delivery time is based on in-stock items, from the time that an order is received and processed.
Shipping and handling is $2.79 for single CDs. Each additional unit of a multi-disc set is $1.99 per CD.
Local sales taxes, if any, are applicable.

Can anyone else confirm that shipping is free?

i got up to the Submit Order part and it looks like there were no shipping prices added.

seems like an awesome deal, though.

some of these dvd sets are "for members only"...whats that all about? any way....up to 13 now and still under $100...the only problem people are having is that the cd's come with cracked jewel cases...doesn't bother me though

Is there any difference between BMG CD's and CD's you buy at like BestBuy? Just wondering because I wanted to get a lot of CD's and was going to use BMG but a friend said that the quality is lower than a normal cd.

i think BMG makes their own CDs so they won't be the same as in bestbuy. i have other CDs from BMG and haven't noticed a difference, my guess is either my ears suck or you have to be a real audiophile to tell if there is a difference

I don't think there's any real difference between other retail cd's and BMG cd's. In fact, it's a question on their FAQ, where they say something to that effect. BMG used to distribute cd's on a major scale in retail stores (i.e. not through their club) in Germany and Holland, but I don't know if they do anymore.

BMG is an 800# gorilla in the recorded music industry. Check out any of the news stories about the RIAA's shenanigans and you'll get a better picture of what they're about.

Hey, maybe they're finally realizing the error of their ways and starting to open up their catalog at reasonable prices.

I saw it, did a double take, because it seems to be the BMG as in the major RIAA member... ever since they started their lawsuit fest, I run all my potential purchases [label, artist, whatever] through RIAA RADAR before I purchase. I highly recommend you do the same. I am really holding it to the *AA and their members to be accountable for their actions... so nice deal, but I'm out. That and BMG doesn't have progressive house ^^; I'd rather buy import from the UK than support a company/group that intends sue me and most everyone I know if they could.... I wonder why Sony is making an iPod substitute yet also is a RIAA member... huh... funny how that works.

8 years ago when I first joined, their CDs sounded harsh; believe or not, not all CDs sound the same. About 4 - 5 years ago, it actually began to sound the same as retail ones. But even today, occaionally, one sounds really bad, I return it without trouble. If you have a friend who is already a member, you can get 12CD for the price of one (plus shipping), like 12 CD for $45; and your friend gets 5 CDs for free (plus shipping). I am happy with them, however, their new selection is usually 6 months later than retail.

To the ?s above: this offer's been around for a while. Beware of BMG: they'll charge your card right away, but may not ship, or do it after many weeks. However they're very responsive to emails and would easily return your money when you send them reminder "already ... weeks passed, no CDs.."

I wonder if they're doing this so they can say, hey, after we started suing people, CD sales went up.
