I'm glad camping snipers suck now. Stops all the camping. You are used to the normal way of playing CoD that's why. This new one, everything is faster paced and you can't just sit around and snipe all day because of the Exo Suit makes movement different. Reviews all over have said that the Exo suit helps with making this game feel more fresh than Ghosts.
Thing is, I just see the "new way" as the "old way," but with double-jump and tiny maps. "Sniping" and "camping" are very different things, and the second one is far from gone in
CoD. I mean, in
BO2, my weapon of choice was the SCAR-H. Now, it's the HBRa3, which is a bit similar (shoots a bit faster, so I can't tap-fire as precisely as I liked to).
When I say you can't snipe, I don't mean that I can't sit back, do nothing, and pick off stragglers. I mean that I can't even bother to use a sniper rifle, and it's because of horrid hit detection and crazy amounts of cover, not because of the game's speed. I was play on Instinct a day or two ago, and this guy was lying on the big machine surrounding point C in Domination. I shot him with a sniper 4 times, nothing. I thought it was because he was dead, and his body was flopping because of the bullet impact. It wasn't until I started seeing sniper rounds come out of him that I realized he was alive, and it just wasn't registering hits. The fifth round finally hit him (in the head, thankfully), and that was that. Such hit detection is the epitome of my issue with the game.
Like I said, in
BO2, I went with the SCAR-H, usually paired with an S12. The snipers were a secondary endeavor for me. In this game, I'd honestly rather see them just scrap snipers altogether, as opposed to leaving them as weapon options, while making them useless. The biggest complaints, though, are just the maps and the inconsistent physics. Recoil varies from encounter to encounter, even while using the same weapon. Hit markers seem more to say "you might have hit that guy," than to indicate that you damaged him. I mean, I shouldn't get into an enclosed space, unload the 8-round S12, get 5-6 hit markers before I'm shot at, and then have the guy run an SMG along my legs and kill me, simply because 5-6 shotgun shells into one's back isn't lethal.
Pretty much this. I've put in some time (I think I am level 32 or so now) and I still really like it. I pretty much only play Hardcore Domination though.
The ability to customize loadouts is great, IMO. I didn't play Ghosts, so I don't know if it is similar, but this is really good. I actually don't use a 3rd perk, a secondary weapon, an exo ability, or any grenades. I am pure run and gun. I love it!
No idea how
Ghosts went, played just a little of it during a free weekend on Steam. However, the customization was 100% stolen from
Black Ops 2, where they had a Pick 10 system. The only differences are:
--Exo Ability over Secondary Grenade (which sucks, because the Exo Abilities are pointless, IMO)
--Scorestreaks are now optional (hence the Pick 13)
I don't actually use any Scorestreaks. In Domination, if you play it properly (as opposed to the masses who just play Team Campmatch and never try to grab points), you die too frequently to take Scorestreaks, IMO. I take my HBR with 2-3 attachments, an S12 (on smaller maps) or Bal (on larger ones), 4-5 Perks (depending on if I want 2 Perk 2 options or not), and maybe a couple of frags (if I take 2 HBR attachments, instead of 3). I don't bother with an Exo Ability or Scorestreaks because you die too much from the claustrophobic map spawning, in my experience.
