vga card out, both sticks in one at a time, in slots b1 and b2 resulted in the beep and system failed memory test

I think that there is more of a chance of the graphics card being bad than the RAM. Have you plugged the extra molex into the vga card? if no, then do that and forget we ever had this chat.

That doesn't discount there being a prob with the mobo or the cpu though.

as far as i can see there is only 1 molex connector to the vid card, unless you are talking about the EZ Plug thing on the mobo?

Sorry - I meant that one molex [there are a lot of posts about the cards not working and they haven't had the molex plugged in].

What EZ plug?

EZ Plug is another molex connector on the mobo of the a8n-sli delux, i think its to help power sli cards or make it more stable or something...

If you have a good friend nearby with a vga card, ask to borrow it for a few minutes [ask nicely mind]

Try the same stuff as above [one stick at a time].
If that comes up with the same results, then [where did you get the RAM?] try the RAM in someone else's rig.
If the sticks, or one of them at least [looking above] is fine, then the mobo must be executed. [Less likely to be the cpu]

i got the ram in january from newegg, its been working in my other rig...dont know anyone that has a pci-e card around here :/

Better start making some contacts around your area.

Make sure they are pretty, and they have a spare pci-e card - then you are set up

Just read through the posts again,

Well, have narrowed down the prob [most likely] to pci-e or mobo.
Sorry can't be more help.
PLEASE do let us know how it goes - when you find the prob.

Also, hang around, as there may be someone else who knows more about pci-e or whatever.

Also, you can try taking the vid card to a local computer store, and asking them if they can test it to see if it works.

You are supposed to use b1 slot for 1 stick which is probably why you won't get anything for a stick in b2. Why aren't you trying other sticks of memory first before trying another vid card? It seems obvious to me that this RAM might not be compatible because of the error code and your manual confirms that.

You could try doing what greenagent suggested - they might charge you a bit, but all you need to know is - can they boot with the card in their system?

If they have success - then the next best guess would be the mobo
