Purchased a Presario v2000 last night.
Apparently, I snagged a good deal because I can't configure it for the same price today. I got it for a little less than $1023 before tax ($993 w/ mail-in rebate). There was a $100 instant rebate, $30 mail-in rebate, and I purchased it through the Academic Purchase Program so the base price was a bit lower.
Configured to: Pentium-M 1.8GHz, 256MB DDR SDRAM, 60GB 5400RPM HD, DVD/CD-RW Combo, Intel PRO/Wireless 2200GB & Bluetooth, productivity ports, 6 cell battery.
I didn't get the BrightView and I plan on purchasing more RAM through
http://www.memorysuppliers.com/. Also, I got XP Home and didn't upgrade the productivity software as I am provided with the XP Pro and Office 2003 cds and keys through a university program.
Expected ship date is December 14. A bit late, but it's probably due to the holiday season.
The same machine configured today priced at about $1237.30 w/o the student discount and $1163.06 w/ the student discount.
Does anyone know of a notebook sleeve that the v2000 fits well in? I imagine it's hard to find a sleeve with the v2000's dimensions having a snug fit.
Well, I hope the v2000 is going to be a good buy. Seems like there are not too many complaints.
