I have been to two Compusa grand opening specials, and the key is to get their early. The last one I got there at 5:25 am and I was the 25th person in line, the last person to get the good free items......I did get a USB external hard drive and an optical mouse for free, about $200 worth of stuff....

I'll be there too. What a place to open - BestBuy, Circuit City, Staples, Office Depot, and OfficeMax are all within a minute's drive...and I live about 5 minutes from it!

hmm, I'm about 50 miles away.. Not too bad of a drive but I wonder how early I'd have to get to get some.

Also, any info on the montor? I'm guessing that you can only get 1 item since by the time you grab it and go for a different item they will be all gone. Not sure if I want the monitor, the computer or the xbox.

I found this HP Pavillion 504N. $349 for a refurb'd one. Probably the most expensive item.

Please, Frisco is a bloated suburb full of regular working shmoes. There's too many people, too little: roads, restaraunts, doctors, grocery stores. Too little everything for the ungodly amount of people that live there. Yargh. People moved there at first so they could be out of 'the city' but still work in Dallas. Then it became trendy, and everyone moved there.

Um, so what? Colleyville is just some small hick town. Are you jealous of Frisco's success? They used to be a nothing town until Stonebriar and then they hit it big, just like Lewisville and to an extent, Grapevine did with Vista Ridge and Grapevine Mills

ROFL!! A Colleyvillage-idiot saying that Frisco has too few restaurants (or roads, or doctors, or grocery stores). That may be the funniest thing I've read all day. The way this works from my experience is that the people standing in line will get a voucher for one of the free items, whichever one they want. You cannot get all of the free offers, only one. They go down the line and hand out the vouchers before the store opens. If you are one of the first people in line, you get your pick of the freebies, but farther down in the line you end up with the scraps, like a voucher for a free mouse or something.....
