Hey again! I built my current computer about a year ago with everyone's input here and now I am looking for thoughts on a current build for a friend.

Their price is no more than 950 dollars (with shipping included) and we live in the USA with win7 home, monitor, and keyboard/mouse starting parts. Looking for primarily Intel and NVIDIA based parts. We plan on building this pc within a week or two.

They are currently playing Rift, SC2, minecraft, and a few other games that is the primary focus of this build. No overclocking is the mindset as well. Monitor is a 23'' LCD/LED monitor.

List the component in the thread rather than leading us away from the forums to Newegg.

Could you update your post with the description of the parts as well? It is not very convenient to click every link just to see the individual parts.

As for the PSU you can get the Corsair TX650 instead as it costs the same. If your friend is not interested in a SLI in the near future you can drop the 650W PSU for a 500W unit instead.

Instead of the GTX460 you can consider getting the recently released GTX560. Costs $20 more for the EVGA model but it is worth the extra.

Use stock cooler at stock speed or for small OC. I didn't bother picking things that had sales ending today, but there are better choices if he was ready.

I'd remove the LED power pin from the connectors on the blue fans before installing anything else.

 Looks pretty good to me. You can save some money with no loss in performance by swapping the memory to this $65 AP G.Skill DDR3 1333 kit and by swapping the PSU to the HCG 520.

Thanks mfenn!

Only issue I have is with the mobo in the combo pack, never heard of it and thus doubt its quality. I trust in the judgment of those here so I think I am gonna stick with it unless I hear otherwise.

Biostar is a pretty big name, but they are definitely in what I would consider to be the second tier of mobo manufacturers.

Should I look into another brand then? I don't want to waste the cash on a problem product.

The TP67B+ is, according to reviews and rumor every good board meeting its price point by omitting things you do not need a being a little obscure on some bios functions. What's you patience worth. That side you could do worse.
I own the TH67B if that means anything. I caught it on shell shocker for $75 though, had intended to choose an Asrock Z68 and got impatient.
Some people have trouble getting LAN drivers, some feel the Biostar Website is lacking, some take exception to auto overclocking features/settings.
Best to find drivers on line.
Near as I can tell anyone else's worth buying is $130 or more.

I would say biostar is fine. Shouldn't be an issue, especially if you save considerable cash.
