Native Command Queuing
Basically it affects how data on the disk is found and read. Tests have shown it to help in multi-user (sever) setups, but offer no gains and even some loss in performance on single user setups.

i never heard of it losing performance in personal PCs... got source?

Of course.
"Unfortunately, IOMeter is about the only place where NCQ seems to help the Barracuda 7200.7. In fact, command queuing actually hurts the drive's performance in typical single-user applications, sometimes by a significant margin."

Seasonic S12 430W $100 - 3 yr warranty, lowest cost, quiet, most efficient, plain looking.
OCZ Powerstream 420W $110 - 5 yr warranty, "bling" name, lowest advertised specs.
Antec NeoPower 480W $115 - 3 yr warranty, modular, highest adv. specs, highest cost.

It's pretty much a no-brainer for me....Considering the price difference, both the seasonic or the Antec would be a better deal, IMO. All I can see that the 420W powerstream has going for it is a better warranty, and that oh so important "bling". What does that do for performance? Absolutlely nothing.
WTF is the point of this post?
You stated that the Antec is much better than the Seasonic, and TONS better than the OCZ.
How does this "short little comparison" have anything to do with which ones a better PSU?
By this stupid @ss logic, I guess you would recommend this Rosewill Value RV450S 450W PSU. Since it's $450W and only $22, must be METRIC TONS better than even your precious Antec.

Maybe you missed that last part. I put it in bold so your brain might have a chance to pick it up this time.

World of Warcraft right now, my current computer runs it fine at high settings at 1600x1200. Only 1gb of RAM too.

Vanguard whenever it comes out...

It becomes more obvious with each post that you have no basis for your original comments. I'm still waiting to understand why you think the Antec is so much better than OCZ and Seasonic. Personally I think Antec is a midrange PSU at best, while OCZ and Seasonic are top brands.
IMO, Antec rails flucuate more than the others, tend to run hot while not being exactly silent, and seem to have a shorter avg. life than other brands.
I put OCZ, Seasonic, Fortorn, and Enermax all above Antec. But I'm not ignorant enough to actually say those brands are MUCH or TONS better than Antec. Only a fool would suggest that.

Now if you think it is a better DEAL, then that's completely different. But that is not what you stated. But just keep digging the hole if you want.

Question for IKE0069. You said that Antec PSUs are all inferior to OCZ, Seasonic, Fortron, and Enermax. It's clear that you hate Antec's PSUs.
But what about Antec's cases, specifically the P180.

I think it's always good to hear the comments from both haters and supporters.

Now I don't hate Antec PSU's, I personally just put them at midrange vice a top tier PSU. I'm still using one now and have no immediate plans to change it.

As for their cases, the Sonata is the first one I've used and it's very nice for what it is designed to do. Be silent. I have always has problems keeping my hardware cool in that case, but it was never said to be a great "cooling" case.
It is very well built and have no complints about the quality of the case. In fact, for the price, I think the case is of suprisingly high quality.
I do like the P180, and while I've never used it, I have no doubts that it's quality is as good as you'll find.

I see you dropped off alot on the CPU and VC.
I personally would go ahead and get the 7800 GT since it appears to be in your budget. And I aslo still think you should go ahead and get 2x1GB RAM.

Case is all preference. If you like the looks of it, then get it. It's definitely a quality case.

I'd really like to add more RAM but maybe in a few months when I have some more spare cash, with tax and shipping this build is almost over my budget of 1200.

Yeah ram seems to be something that can always be held off for later as I doubt pc3200 ram will become outdated anytime soon. You never know, you might catch some mega 50 percent off ram sale in a month's time.

And I think the system you're gonna can probably run WOW at max without breaking a sweat. I personally think Blizzard makes games that are less demanding of system resources anyways.

I've been reading alot about installing SATA hard drives (never done this before), everything I read seems to be a horror story.

Should I just get an IDE drive and what brand should I get? Tried to find a 250gb Seagate IDE drive but they don't seem to exist.

Don't worry about installing an OS on a SATA drive. It's pretty overhyped. I had a bit of trouble trying to install Windows on my RAID array, but I just asked on Anandtech, and everything worked out fine. The slim cables are definitely worth it. If you're going to spend like $91 on a PSU, this Sparkle would probably be better, even though it's like $10 more. It's a friggen monster, with 36A on a single +12V rail.

the fortron blue storm is nice since it comes with neat blue sleeved cables for a easier installation. its no big deal though. for his system, the $91 500W Blue Storm will be great, or any other system. Fortrons are known to operate mugh higher than expected since they are rated so conservatively. but that Sparkle is awesome as well, and it is the same company, so you get great reliability either way. its a toss up

good suggestion though
