I just got a new computer...Asus A7V133, 1.0 ghz thunderbird, and 256 megs PC133 Micron. I have had it running since last wednesday. I have been getting frequent crashes and have slowly been improving on it, installing new drivers and tweaking here and there. Then i noticed the temp. 52 deg C! So i took the cpu out, cleaned the artic silver off and put a much less amount on. I had a friend put the silver on before and he used WAY too much. I put just enough in the die and popped it back in the machine.
Well, now I am computerless. It does not post, does not run, does not do anything! I plug in the power and it just sits there with the fans running. It usually powers up for a few seconds and them powers sown. Nope, it just stays on but nothing happens. Did i just make myself a $200 keychain?
