New computer, need to move chrome everything to it + alturnatives

Ok, last time I installed windows was nearly 6 years ago, my number 1 sticking point was I need my profile on chrome to transfer, found a program that would make a file for me to move from the hdd to the new ssd, and it failed, ended up copy pasting the chrome data from one directory to another with someone's help on what to do... so it's been 6 years, are there any changes to how easy or painful this process is?

Now, While I'm on the topic of a new computer, fresh installs, and chrome, are there any good chrome alternatives that are able to use chrome extensions and import things like password lists to them?

Now Chrome can bring your passwords to a new machine just by signing in with your Google account.

When you sign into your google account, it should bring over your bookmarks, passwords, extensions if turned on
or otherwise I usually just copy over the google folder located in c:\users\username\appdata\local

As for an alternative to Chrome itself, i have not looked at any personally

Sounds good with the chrome sign in, the only issue I can think of would be what if it decides that current chrome would be the way it was meant to be, would it wipe my profile online?

I ask because I have has crap do that to me in the past where when it should have painlessly copped everything on the new install, it decided the new install was the one meant to be copied from not to.

Chrome doesn't have any default bookmarks.

I had to reset my user profile at work today. Installed Chrome and signed in with my Google ID. Just as good as I left it. Even my extensions come back.

more meant that chrome sees I have no bookmarks and no extensions and thinks that is the way I want it so it scrubs everything there already.
