I just ugraded to my computer with the following:
AMD XP 2500 Barton
Soltek NV400-64
512mb Buffalo PC3700 (winbond)
Antec 350w PS
I'm still using from my old setup:
Geforce 3
60gig Maxtor
When I boot up I have no problems getting into the bios and all my setting are set to default. But when I put in my Windows XP CD to reinstall windows is where my problem is. It goes to the blue windows setup screen and starts loading up files and drivers but when it says "Beginning Windows Setup" the computer just freezes. I've tried upping the voltage a bit and I've tried a different stick of ram but I still get the same problem. I've also tried underclocking the fsb to 133 and keeping the case open to see if was a heat problem. When i attempt to just go into windows using my old install it says "error loading operating system". Is it possible my motherboard is DOA? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
*Update* Well i can no longer even get into the bios. When I power on the computer I get a long beep followed by two short beeps. The monitor does not kick in either. I've checked all my connections and made sure the memory was seated properly.
