I have around $1100-$1200 to spend on a system that I want to last 3+ years. I don't overclock and I don't really play games very often, mostly use it for word processing, web browsing, and programming. Ideally, I would like to future proof this system as much as I can. I am thinking of the following setup, please let me know your opinions/if something wrong with the setup/anything. Thanks!
Case: Antec P180
PSU: Antec True Power 2 480 Watt
Motherboard: MSI K8N NEO4 Platinum w/ Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCu
CPU: AMD 64 Venice 3000
Memory: OCZ Premier Dual Channel 4001024PDC-K DDR400 (2x 512)
Video Card: Geforce 6600GT (havn't figured out which one)
Hard Drive: Western Digital Raptor WD740GD
DVD Drive: PLEXTOR Beige SATA DVD Burner Model PX-716SA/SW
I have all the peripherials: speakers/monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc already. I will also run 4-5 older hard drives in addition to the new WD Raptor. Hopefully everything falls within my budget when I start buying in 1-2 months.
