My experience with Netmarket was bad. I signed up for a free trial for something like $50 off of Priceline. I didn't see anything there that was worth the effort of purchasing - yes, their nominal prices were a couple cents cheaper than the "authorized retailers" they pricematch with, but their shipping was pretty high, and their selection was pretty awful - so I cancelled my membership as soon as I got the packet of info from them. Four months later, a charge for their membership fee showed up on my credit card, so I called them to complain. They claimed I never cancelled my membership. I gave them the confirmation number they gave me when I cancelled, the date, time, CSR's name, and eventually they agreed to cancel my membership and issue me a refund.
A couple weeks went by, and eventually a credit showed up on my card - for about 75% of the membership fee. PO'd, I called again, and the CSR told me that they had given me a pro-rated refund based on the time from when my trial period ended to when I got the CC statement with the charge on it and called them to complain. She then told me she couldn't fix it, and that I had to _fax_ a complaint to their _board of directors_ who would decide whether or not to give me a refund. I faxed their board, and sent a copy to Citibank, who immediately gave me a credit for the difference, regardless of whether or not they got anything back from Netmarket, and a couple months later, I also got a credit from Netmarket.
I guess I made out a couple bucks, but the hassle wasn't worth it. It's been almost a year now, just about time for them to try charging me another annual fee. Guess I better dig out the paperwork on them.
BTW, Amex won't PM purchases made at places with a pricematching policy.
