Sorry, but as amazing this game is, it's not worth a premature move to Vista.

Well it isn't out yet. I have a strong feeling that by the time it is released, Vista will be more mature. Many are using it now without a hitch, maybe not many gamers though.

Far Cry just failed to catch on with the Mapping/Modding Community. Hopefully Crysis changes all that.

Don't count on it.
I think it is possible, or even likely, you'll need a quad-core cpu and a an SLI/XFire G80/R600 setup to run it at 16x12 with all the eye candy turned on.
I do hope I am wrong.

By the time its released I bet the highest end card at the time will do it with a dual core. Just a guess though. But thats likely with little to no AA/AF. Anything more then that I'd say SLI/XF. I don't see quad core being needed for it but wouldn't hurt.

IDK, but I doubt that games will take full advantage of 4 cores in the near future. Many games still do not take advantage of dual cores, by being able to run multiple threads, right, or am I unfairly judging the state of PC games' programming right now?

The game is already running smoothly on a 8800 and Core 2 Duo, and this is without optimizations. This was stated a few months ago when they showed off the game.

Yeah that's what im thinking. It's going to be one of those games that gets delayed for 2 years and by the time it releases it will be outdated or main steam.

Oh lordy...that nuke blast at the end made me giggle like a school girl. That looks so cool! Very unrealistic that a human could withstand the shockwave while everything else blew apart, but hey, it's a game.
I thought the screen shots of this game looked great, but after seeing the video with the physics in action I'm in awe.
