Picked her up in CO about a month ago. Put the order in, had to buy her sight unseen, without a test drive.

2015 Limited 6MT - Ice Silver Metallic - $28,816 after dealer handling of $389.00 (This is before taxes, titling, and registration, which I will have to take care of in my home state).

Certainly not the greatest (or prettiest) car in the world but I thought it was certainly one of the most interesting at its price point, and I'm tired of owning boring cars. (Previous was a 2001 Accord Coupe 5MT)

Congrats. Next step: join NASIOC and waste the rest of the week/weekend learning more than you'll ever need to know about it.

What is insurance like?

I like the Scoobies but the fuel economy kills it for me. I'd be filling up every 4 days like I was with my Maxima.

Thanks everyone!

Congrats. Next step: join NASIOC and waste the rest of the week/weekend learning more than you'll ever need to know about it.

Already on it...but NASOIC members are really, really not newb friendly. 2015 posters have already made a name for themselves over there but honestly, they (we?) post some pretty inane questions. Still, the Honda and BMW community are less pretentious c*cks, at least online. Really surprised me.

 From an RX-8 owner!

But we need more pics!

Ah, I'll take some pics when I clean it up. Hopefully this weekend. Love the RX-8, always a coveted car of mine.

What is insurance like?

I like the Scoobies but the fuel economy kills it for me. I'd be filling up every 4 days like I was with my Maxima.

Insurance? Horrendous. Considered not getting the car due to insurance. My original policy holder wanted something to the tune of $188 a month to insure the car with comprehensive. Geico offered me the same at $119.

Male driver, under age of 25 - It's not cheap.

Fuel Economy? With the new FA20DIT motor, you'd be surprised. I get 30 mpg on the highway according to the read out (which is .8 mpg- optimistic according to my manual calculations). Driving around the city, I get 24, if I *don't* drive like a hoon.

Tunes apparently open up avenues for more power *and* better gas mileage, but I will wait to see if the car needs any covered work within the first year before forfeiting my 5yr powertrain warranty.

I have a fully loaded 2015 WRX in Rally Blue. Bought it in June. I love the car or should I say rocket ship.

Do you live in a winter state? What are your winter tire plans? I've been shopping around. Narrowed things down to the Michelin X-Ice Xi3 or Nokian Hakkapeliitta R or R2.

This is what I have been using. LOVE these tires....

Honestly, that's not bad at all, given the car in question.

You should really get full coverage on that beast, though. Up your deductible to $1k or more if you can.

Thanks for the tip - it's fully covered at that rate.

Apparently it's not bad in comparison to the rates my friends pay who drive high performance (real high performance cars, not Imprezas with turbos attached) but it's a huge increase over the $45 a month I was paying for the accord.

Congrats! I see you got the 'proper' color.

The thing *is* a damn rocketship...250 whp/wtq to a car that weighs 3200 pounds is quite formidable. Have you taken a look at the tunes available? Cobb Accessport + Brentune has people doing quarter miles that dip into the high 12's and 4.5 second 0-60s. It's freaking ridiculous.

Funny you mention winter tires, I'm at the northern tip of Virginia and we're going to be seeing temps drop into the 20s next week. I found a set of Blizzaks (215/45/17s) on craigslist for $100. Seems to have about half tread left, they're going on the stock wheels tomorrow. I refuse to pay full price for tires which I will use for a single season.

That's about right price wise for insurance on a WRX. I'm paying around the same (just a hair more) for my evo and I'm 29. You should see your rates drop a bit when you turn 25... mine did. I'll also be switching to Geico as soon as my current policy is up... their quote for 2 cars was much cheaper than my current (AllState).

+1 from a mustang gt owner. It's a shame you had to sell all your stuff to afford it. Pic shows you having a big curb sale in the background. Priorities I guess....

Lol, actually I got rid of the place entirely. Who needs a roof? I sleep in my car now.

(Pic was taken outside the service department of the dealership)

LOL! That's three times what I pay for my Ducati for full coverage.

Nice! I really wish they would do a hatch version of this car. Sat it in a while back and the interior is much better than what it use to be.

+1

OP: Congrats on the new car. Looks like alot of fun to drive. Is this car your daily driver? How is the power delivery in stop and go traffic? Is it pretty smooth?

Looking forward to the OP posting more pics of the car, especially the interior.

Which Blizzak did you get? At 50 percent tread they may be essentially worn out - that's a tire you need to buy new, once you're through the multicell layer the snow performance drops off a cliff.

Be very, very careful if that's the case.

Debadged and red overlays installed.

I love the look...but I shouldn't have listened to people online touting that "the reverse lights are usable, they just have a pinkish hue." The reverse lights are completely red. I'll have to cut out that part or just uninstall them entirely. Shame.
