1) yes

2) Wireless N is another wireless standard like wireless A/B/G. technically its supposed to be superior to wireless G but it has not been adopted as the actual STANDARD of wireless. you will need all wireless N capable hardware for wireless N to work to its full potential, so since you dont know what it is, it wont be "worth it" to you.

That's easy. You get the 32GB solid state (flash) hard drive. Those things double your battery life... and costs $800. What? I'm just saying.

the larger cell batteries are very worth it if you actually go unplugged for a while.

i have a d420 for work with the 9 cell battery and it lasts a good 4.5 hours or 5 hours with wifi on.
