New Discovery line Roomba Red robotic vacuum for $101 delivered.

The odds are that it won't be very good.

According to the reviews that I've seen for all of the other knockoffs, they are just cheap pieces of junk looking to grab some buyers who confuse it with a Roomba.

I've never seen the Robo Vac, but it's probably along the lines of the Zoombot, which was compared with the Roomba in This Review

I would guess that if this thing had any value whatsoever it would have generated some buzz. Otherwise, it's most likely just another poorly working knockoff like the Zoombot, eVac, Robosweep, RoboMaid or Intellivac.

Amazon currently has the Roomba red back on sale for $127 - ($25 off $125) = $102 shipped. They claim it won't be delivered before xmas, which may or may not be true. They said that about my last order, and I got it last week.

Went online, verified one from 'Wholesalers Club' was refunded. Double checked order. Order says "This order was refunded." and right below "UPS Tracking number:"

Umm... Amazon refunded it, but WC shipped it anyway?

fyi home depot sells the red as well as the discovery package. retail prices though, 149 and 249. i read through both manuals and the only difference i could find was that the discovery has the "MAX" button - sorry i forget what its for. like mentioned above, the accessories in the Discovery come out to about 100 if purchased for the Red separately, so its pretty much the same unit.

currently browsing through roombareview.com.. probably won't take the plunge for a while. i initially thought the <150 tag was for everything, including the home base charger..

If you're planning to buy all the accessories anyways, you can buy the full Discovery at Bed Bath &amp; Beyond. Then use the 20% off coupon that they send to customers on their mailing list to get for $200 + tax. This is a sure deal as long as you have the coupon (if you don't, one of your friends probably does) and it has the convenience of B&amp;M if returns are necessary.

Final update.

Moms sent me mine. Left it in box for a few days, unwrapped it two days ago and put it on the charger.

Got home yesterday, and decided to 'give it a whirl'.

AMAZING little gadget. I have a long haired wife (I know it sounds funny, but it's true), and when she loses hair, it's fairly noticable. Theres usually more than a few around her make-up table where she combs her hair. I also have 3 cats, one of them also a long-hair.

Roomba got it all. Put it in the bedroom which sort of has a larger horse-shoe pattern (because of the area the bed takes up) and it zig-zagged around the whole room, would hit something, and using it's sensor technology, would zoom along edges of furniture, with a little actuator brush grabbing stuff from the edges, and putting it in the path where roomba could run over it.

Truly amazing piece of hardware. 2 charges and 3 hours later (without me having to do anything except pick it up and move it between rooms) my entire house floor is CLEAN! Cat litter (stuff the bring with them stepping out of the box), hair, dust, cat food (dry kibble), and anything else smaller than a 1/4" that was on the floor.

A very worthwhile investment to save you time and stress.
