HL2 > Halo2 > Doom3. I'm sorry but after seeing the new movies for hl2 and halo2, doom3 needs alot of work to compete. It looks nice don't get me wrong but HL2 is a jaw dropper.

I think all of them are jaw droppers...Half-life 2 definetely came out of nowhere to show the competition who reivented the genre in 1997. But i am also looking forward to Stalker which looks very promising too.
Imho you cannot judge Doom 3 from pics or videos, it's all about dynamic lights and the atmosphere, that is created. I will definetely feel the same fear again, that i felt, when the original Doom came out. Nevertheless let's be honest: nobody expects an id software game to stand out in the gameplay departement...

Doom 3 looks far better than Half Life 2 graphically. I don't know, something about Doom 3 strikes me as leaps and bounds ahead of anything else. UT2k3 wasn't impressive to me at all, but everything i've seen from Doom 3 has been simply amazing.

I saw that HL2 is to be released September 30th! Waaaah.....I want to put my Radeon 9700 to good use NOW, before it's worth 1/10000 of what I paid for it.

And is it just me, or does that plot sound a bit like Half Life's? Spatial tears open up, and weird aliens come out, and some take over human bodies? Very nice graphics though.

I'm not impressed by the trailer at all. The graphics quailty is poor, and puposely looks "vague" quality wise. I have the latest version of Divix player loaded, so I am assuming that the visual quality is purposely downgraded.

Is this the case? Or is everyone else seeing sharp stunning graphics. I'm wondering if the site I downloaded from somehow trashed it.

My friend saw this video at E3 yesterday and said that was from the Xbox version. Anyway, the video certainly isn't as sharp as actual gameplay, but knowing what the screenshots look like its pretty easy to tell what it will look like when the real thing hits.

XBox? no wonder it looks like crap. I'm not impressed by how any of the console games look compared to PC games. But I realise TV is limmited resoluton wise.

In Doom you were tying to close of the seventh gate of hell IIRC, not stop an alien invasion.

I just got the PC version from the UT2003 server via that link.

I guess it looks good if you are into the monster sci-fi spacey thing (zzz) . I am more interested in what might be done with the 'ginny to make a realistic combat game. The environment makes it difficult to judge whether it will be capable because it all looks a bit comic book like. Does anyone know if it is technically limited to small indoor maps like Quake III was?
