which MA city close by to Providence, RI within like 10 mile distance


I wanna visit providence but for some reason hotels there triple the price than in MA

worcester is the 2nd largest one in MA.

Fall River? I'm from NH, so I don't have a great sense of distance for that part of Mass.

The Roger Williams Park Zoo in RI is nice

For hotels between Providence & Boston, try looking in Mansfield, MA. They are just off Rts 95 & 495.

Rhode Island is a nice little state. I spent my New Year's in Providence last year, and I especially like Newport. Attleboro is right on the RI border, but pretty much anywhere in southeastern/central Mass is close to RI>

Woonsocket is a good small town. Hell, you can always stay at a Motel 6. Lol.

What you can also do is look for towns with small airports. They're bound to have a few hotels.

Attleboro and S. Attleboro should do the trick.

Worcester is NOT the place to stay if you want to go to Providence.

South Attleboro is your best bet.

Fall River isn't the best for Providence, Newport ya, but not Providence.

Just as a question, were you looking for Hotels in Providence,
because I would be surprised if they are much more expensive than Boston.


You could probably find a hotel in a city in RI nearby Providence
much cheaper than in Providence.

Worcester is DEFINITELY the wrong place. According to Street Atlas, downtown to downtown is almost 40 miles, which is about 50 minutes BUT it usually takes longer due to the Boston traffic. Worst case is 3 hours.

Being Winter I have had no desire to visit the Zoo

But when I do go to the Zoo, I usually go to the Roger Williams Zoo.

Honestly not sure on the status of the exhibites, It might not
hurt to contact them, due to the large quantities of falling
snow right now.

Providence is a real up and coming town. Nice restaurants. In fact many people I know go to Providence instead of Boston, which with the Big Dig, is a real traffic nightmare. I have a membership to the Franklin Park Zoo, which allows admission to other places and zoos (great bargain). Anyway, I dont know what is closed, but the Roger Williams Zoo is terrific. Best in the area. Not that it matters now, but if anyone comes to visit at Halloween, they have 3 acres of pumpkins. Have some pics of that and the zoo. Maybe I can get a site and load and link them for anyone interested.

there are tons of cheap bed and breakfast places in RI, I think my friend took his then gf there for valentines day 2 yrs ago, and it was like 65$/night. Good luck, I don't remember the name of the BB thou.

I hate to tell you, but Boston's traffic situation sucked long before the big dig came along
