Don't think many people will argue the Boston Traffic sucked before the Big Dig, however the Big Dig hasn't made it any easier

to be close to providence stay in a hotel in seekonk or even fall river. I know for a fact there are many hotels in seekonk, and its only about 10-15 minutes from providence and 1 hour from boston.

He**, stay out of Woonsocket and South Attleboro - they are dumps. If you want to stay close to Providence - try either Warwick RI (plenty of hotels) near the airport, or Seekonk MA (also plenty of nice, new hotels) and both are within 15 minutes of Providence. Personally, I'd go to Seekonk first.

Hey now...my sister lives in Woonsocket

So do I and most of my immediate family.

I'd go with Seekonk or Fall River, though. Maybe North Attleboro.

Dump, my ass. Woonsocket certainly isn't a haven of suburbia, but it's a hell of a lot nicer than most cities I've seen. Certainly nicer than Providence.

Roger William's park zoo is nice, but there aren't a lot of indoor exhibits. There are a few, but most of them are outdoor. I'd follow what someone here said and try the Children's Museum or the Aquarium, though they're both in Boston. You could always ride the T in, though.

Atteleboro, North Attleboro, Foxboro, Mansfield are all really close to Providence but still in Ma.

That's true enough, but we don't want our friend to be driving about aimlessly on those one way streets in Woonsocket either.
