Oh I already downloaded the fansubs, but would like to buy it as well. It can be excruciating waiting for stuff to be licensed and released in the US, though.

My guess: The kid is actually both a guy and a girl, one of the characters doesn't even exist except in his mind like in A Beautiful Mind, Eva catches a virus and goes crazy, etc.

I couldn't figure out Evangelion for the longest time until I realized that the Evas are fueled by raw depression. That's the only explanation for why no one else can pilot them.

Ah, good show. I'm interested in what Gainax will do with this. They made alot of changes

-Asuka has her name changed to Shinkami Asuka, weird considering she's German
-New character named Mari Illustrious. Weird name, but all the characters names were based off Japanese battleships, and shes probably be "normal" considering the dialouge on the promotional poster
-Of course, New Eva. Has 4 legs, drill arms, and tunnels through the ground piloted by above character in a plugsuit reminiscent of the Diebuster outfits

I think its fairly obvious the movie series is a sequel to the original


Also, this trailer is REALLY old. The new leaked trailer shows alot more

Eerie... there really aren't any 'new' scenes in the trailer, just old ones that have been redone. Is it sad that I recognised nearly all of them?

Can anyone confirm this? Looked like there were a lot of new scenes in the 2.0 trailer, but it's been a while since I watched the TV series, so maybe I'm mistaken. 1.0 was pretty much straight from the TV series, but my understanding is that the story would start to take a new direction in 2.0 and later films.

Alot of the scenes are similar. Tough with very nice animation, but yes, the story will take a huge turn because of the introduction of the Provisional Unit, and Illustrious Mari.
