New EVGA 8800GT BIOS.

We have released a new BIOS for the 8800GT SC (N802) card on our site that makes some slight adjustments to the fanspeed autosensor.

Basically the fanspeed just ramps up quicker, the KO and SSC versions will be posted early next week.

Also, all new shipping boards will have this change in place, we have this posted for those of you with existing cards. You can find this BIOS on the EVGA downloads page. This BIOS is ONLY for those who wish their fanspeed to spin up quicker, there are no other changes.

I hope I can figure a way to mod it so its slow at 2d and full speed in 3d no matter what temp.

You can do this with Rivatuner.

Yes and use Rivatuner.

This fix is for EVGA cards, but all 8800GT's will probably have the same problem. Just wait for BFG to release a fix.

Yes, just did some initial testing using the lastest Nvidia Beta 169.12 Vista32. Using 3D Demo fans are ramping-up for me as follows....

70c - 30%
75c - 35%
80c - 45%

I'm about to do some in game temp logging to see what temps Max out at, hopefully 80c is it. Prior to this I was at 65c-75c Max under load with fan set at a constant 65%. I'm wondering if they did anything else as far as bug fixes or performance enhancements. BIOS went from 62.92.12.XX.XX to 62.92.16.XX.
