It doesn't matter how cheap it is, they need to get the money somehow. That's the problem with drug users. If they could hold down jobs and pay for it legit I wouldn't care either.

Even then, these meth users go insane sooner or later. Drugs does not solve anything. Drugs only destroys lives. Just the very reason that the body tries to adapt to these unnatural levels of neurotransmitters will always be the problem.
Some people have a genetic defect that causes to low or to high levels of certain neurotransmitters at parts in the brain. Usually not the most happiest people, not because they do not want to be... But because they have to fight forever to stay in control. I see it around me often... Very sad, no fun at all...

I had to take DARE classes when I was a kid which made an impact on my life. Thats where I learned about all the household items that could get me high like gasoline, whipped cream, and air duster. God bless America!

I'm pretty sure we have existing laws against the actions you fear, what does a second law accomplish?

I'm also pretty sure a law will not prevent a drug user from getting drugs or whatever action they need to get the money for drugs.

However, it does make the money go to organized crime and they produce some nasty products since of course nothing is regulated.

Both of my parents were on drugs before during and after my birth. Moreso my dad than my mom.

Now that I'm older it's like. Why did my parents have to be junkies? This is why I can't have nice things...

I know I have many personality issues, but there is not a whole lot I can do about it either...

All these junkies should have been lined up in front of a firing squad after the mug shot. Only degrading & destroying the DNA when they continue to breed. They only hinder the human species. Junkies should be eradicated. Would be a better place without them.

Heh. I remember that BS story. Those "bath salts" are most definitely not bath salts.

They are unclassified, but synthetic hallucinogenic drugs, sold using a legal loophole by labelling them as bath salts (not for human consumption).

Err, no.
Most (if not all) "bath salts" contain Methylenedioxypyrovalerone, an Amphetamine-esque drug.
(though, not a true Amphetamine analog, AFAIK)

It's merely a side effect of Meth use. While high they end up doing something repeatedly such as reading something over and over again as well as picking at their own faces. It's very common in meth use over time.

To add to the topic at hand, Whether it be meth or any other addictive substance (Physical or Psychological) addiction is addiction no matter which way you cut it. The addict has to want to quit to actually quit. Granted, some of us may be more predisposed to addiction in different forms but it is difficult nonetheless.

Though we can argue about which substance is more harmful, it won't do much good though. A drug is a drug. I don't find issue with recreational use of certain drugs but it all comes down to the responsible use of it. If it can't be achieved (responsible use that is) it shouldn't be used. I had some pretty heavy use throughout my teenage years of various drugs and ended up going down a path that would have been my own demise.

My dad gave me a choice. He said: "Either join the Air Force or get the fuck out of my house and live with one of your lowlife junkie friends." I ended up joining the AF and it changed my life for the better. I remember getting high with some of my friends's parents. Their children were crawling around in filth. Just seeing that and experiencing it, I could never want that for myself.

I've been out of the Air Force a while now and though it helped me put things into perspective, I don't necessarily think that it would work for others. We are all individuals with our own perceptions that have been altered by the unique upbringing that we've experienced. The method that worked for me would not work for others.

I currently work doing IT for a Non-Profit that serves Victims of Domestic Violence. With Domestic Violence you see the prevalence of drug abuse and it's usually alcohol and meth. I've seen what it's done to people that were once good people. It's relative though. A drug is a drug and abuse of it will cause problems.

An addict has to want to quit first before going through the cleanup stage. Just personal experience....

In fact, because of the archaic laws outside of states like CA, kids are turning to more dangerous research chemicals (Bath salts) in order to get high.

Not only are we not helping the addicts who are on a downward spiral, we are creating Mexican super-cartels that cause more death and damage to the environment then ever before.

I am far from a liberal, believe me. Any fiscal conservative can see that the DEA and prison system are wasting a mST of our money on locking up users. Unless, of course, you think just 10 more years of the same failed policies will start to show a difference
