I'll agree with you that it should all be in one thread, but do you really think that IE is less buggy / exploitable?

I like IE because everything works right with IE and i don't have to worry about compatibility. The same reason most people run XP vs Linux. Sure Linux has a cool factor but most of the good stuff is on the Windows side. Same with Firefox and IE. I've tried Firefox but it is not as good as IE.

Yeah, I installed Firefox two days ago, but I just got fed up with it, kind of slow, kept crashing when I tried to import Explorer settings, and just plain locked up my computer a lot. If I get confirmation this patch fixes it... I might try use it again.

To each his own I guess. I don't hate IE, I am just really diggin' Firefox right now. I will say that there are only a few minor issues I've seen so far. It doesn't autoupdate as fast as IE for sports websites and sometimes textboxes are a little misshapen. It's a work in progress the same as most other pieces of software.

the patch doesnt fix the symptoms u've listed. u might wanna check if it's some virus or other program causing the crash.

Just don't know why this is hot. If there is no security flaw ever for an application, that would be hot!

No news is the good news.

Patches are getting out of controls. Developers depend on patches too much, either it's because they are careless, or the deadline is too tight so they let known bugs slipped by and hope that they will have time to fix it on their next release.

Of course, it's also because system becomes more and more complex. Even firmwares are following this trend, patches after patches, it's totally out of control!

This may not be a hot deal but Mozilla and Firefox are pretty good alternatives to MS IE.

I'm sure OP feels this it a HOT ISSUE, and rightlly so for some people. However, I thought this is a DEAL forum, for like hardware, software, electronics, plain old good bargains and free stuff ( I don't get excited about free Microsoft Patches either). It's not the place to post software patches. I'm sure the OP didn't put this put this post in every forum to catch everyone on AT, so why here?

I am sure everyone would like to know when a new patch for every program they use comes out, but patches are definitely not hot deals. If you want mass publicity, put a link and blurb in your sig?
