Amazon just redid their terms and conditions to crack down on fake EDU email addresses for student accounts and to not implement a better policy. Anyone who signs up now recieves a free membership AND a referral credit ($10) in the hopes that more and more people will follow referral links and also provide them.

I just bought a textbook for my son, standard free shipping time was deal breaker, but selecting the textbook it showed the student prime deal, free prime for six months. I opened a chat with CS and they said its fine to use my son's .edu email to get the deal.

I filled it out and they sent a verification code to his email, he forwarded that to me, and looks like we are golden for six months, then half price if we want to continue. Main thing is that we got the book in two days instead of a week plus.

Yep, Amazon student Prime is frigging awesome!!! Have had this for a couple of years while I was in my BA studies. Helped a ton on things I needed for my college courses.
