Even better....I have a Viewsonic VP201b -- 20.1", 16ms response and build quality that would make dell beg for my mercy (and yes, I know that they don't make 'em....but still, come on, it says "Dell" on it :disgust: )

I call shenanigans.

That much AA (I believe 6xAA is exclusive to ATI anyway, Nvidia has 2, Q, 4, and 8SS) would give more than a 10fps performance hit from no AA.

16xAF alone would give that much, if not, more of a performance hit.

Whats the price tag on that? I'd like to know, might get a similiar setup to that soon

No...6x isn't exclusive to ATI (you have an ATI don't you?). When I start it up...it recommends I use 4x AA and 8x AF. I boosted them up to max.

But just to appease....I ran it again at got 109.45 the first time.

I have no reason to lie....I have a life.

11,116 is what a similarly equipped FX55 system got. Here is another link: 11,945

Now unless you have a 4.0ghz overclock on that 2.6cpu, I find this hard to believe.

+ CPU Multi-Media - 91399

91,000 points in multimedia? Not even 3 FX55 processors will give you this much.

+ Memory Bandwidth - 9810

A64 theoretical memory bandwidth doesnt even approach this value. Maybe somewhere around 6000 would be more realistic??

His stress test numbers sound about right. I'll have to run more tests this weekend, but I was getting 141 FPS at 1600x1200. The game automatically sets it to 4xAA/8xAF. I have the slider set to performance, and it makes a big differance in FPS. That's the thing, people can get different results depending on where that slider is set, and whether they force AA and AF on.

The community needs to come up with a testing standard next week when HL2 comes out. Otherwise, the results don't mean much if everyone has that slider different.

My card is clocked a little bit faster, at 451/1200, that's why I might be getting a higher score.

HL2 time is 3am on the east coast. Yeah, I'll probably be up to see if it unlocks.

yup something is wrong here... I tested all night... his Sandra #'s are violently flawed. I would love a link to compare his 3dmark score but he says he doesn't have the pro version so he can't compare... neither do I but I can still compare.

Okay guys...wow, ya'll are right. I COMPLETELY apologize for my flawed numbers! I have NO IDEA what happened when I ran through it and got my CPU MM benchmark. Please understand that I had NO intention of decieving anyone in here or lying in anyway.

So I've run it again (3 times to be exact)...and here's what I've got:

CPU Arithmetic - 16020
CPU MM - 51385
Mem Band - 9771
File System - 80930

So Russian....as you can see, the Mult-Media score was WAY off! However, the Arithmetic score was dead on. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I was floating around this value on all three tests.

Again, I apologize for any confusion.

I don't care if you have no reason to lie, i'm not implying you are. I am implying your testing method is flawed, and so are your results.

No, I do not own an ATI, It is a Nvidia based card and I do not see the 6xAA option anywhere.

Why is it that The Firing Squad are not getting the same results as you? Granted its an Athlon64 3800+, your FX55 will NOT automagically add 50fps to that 6800Ultra score. Espically since FS's testing methods were at lower AA/AF settings as well.

Your testing is flawed, try again.

Sandra version:
SiSoftware Sandra Professional Unicode (Win32 x86)
2004.10.9.133

And as for 3Dmark05...I've now bought the pro version. I really hope that you guys can believe me after this....I don't know what else I need to do.

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=276663

Edit: In fact....I even scored higher this time

Yeah, that is really wierd. At 2.7, honestly, you should be kicking my anus in CPU scores. It's either the RAM or the mobo...?

And I know that I didn't need to buy the pro, but I figured that as much as I use their product--I should've anyway.

Okay sir...I've tried again.

Here is a pic prooving that 6x and 16x are available w/nvidia cards:
http://cs.baylor.edu/~hickeyw/comp/css1.jpg

And here is a pic proving my score of 123.38 w/no AA and Trilinear AF:
http://cs.baylor.edu/~hickeyw/comp/css2.jpg

Now...with that said. I will say that I haven't been able to complete a normal run w/6x and 16x enabled. (Cheers to you). I get purple coloring and then a lockup. Here's a pic of what I'm seeing:
http://cs.baylor.edu/~hickeyw/comp/css_error.jpg
I'm sorry about the 6x/16x bench I posted earlier...but this WAS NOT happening. I'm going to remove that bench from the 1rst post now, and play around w/this until I figure something out. Sorry about any confusion.

Actaeon, thank you for pointing this out! (To be honest, I was REALLY shocked when I saw the results originally!)

Let me know if you guys have anymore questions.

Nah, it's all good. I have no doubts that you have an amazing and an extermely fast rig. It's just important that values are not overinflated so that novice users who might run and spend $800 on an FX cpu thinking it is significantly faster than anything else out there. Think about it if A64 3500+ scores 10500 and FX got 16000, the cost increase would justify the purchase. However, in reality they are very close in performance. You woulnd't want someone to purchase a cpu for 3x more and being disappointed later due to incorrect values he/she read off the net (if they base their purchases on user experiences like yours).

Sorry if I appeared to be an ass. I was not trying to crap your thread, so I apologize. I understand you are excited about your new system, it is very nice, basically any gamers dream build. Its still a bit more than I would ever spend though

An Ingame setting won't mean its in there, Doom3 has the same settings for myself, but I believe it doesn't work (never tried, its already slow enough at 4x ). What I BELIEVE is happening is, you're setting it to 6x in the stress test, but since Nvidia cards can't do 6x, it just does not do it at all. No AA... no performance hit, so your benchmarks show it higher than it really should be, since AA isn't really enabled.

I suggest you re-test at 4x and 8x, and post your results.

You built a $3000 system, and you're using some cheap $30 speakers?

That's a crazy system though.
So are you going to get a nice phase change cooling next so you can make your athlonfx55 to fx-60?!?!
