You're probably tired of doing tests but can you run the valve test with just 8 or 16x AF (@ 1600x1200) I'm getting incredibly poor performance in game (CS:S) but my stress test is semi-decent.. I really don't know whats up. HL2 runs at like 30fps in most spots on my 6800 ultra (on a 3.0 P4). I'm going to likely upgrade to an FX if I can ever make a decision on what exactly to buy

Reason I am posting is to ask for your BIOS settings?
What are your mem settings? OC?

Take care

I'd agree....get a new gpu if you plan on doing much gaming (looks like you can afford it )

As for my BIOS settings. My CPU is set to Auto OC....however, using CPUz, I'm finding that it only goes up to around 2604 MHz (which is nothing).

My memory settings are also set to Auto. Before, I wasn't exactly sure what Auto meant....was it an automatically detect settings? Or was it Auto oc? The stellar manual that asus provided offered no help. However, now I believe that it's probably an Auto OC b/c my mem speed is @ 200 mhz according to cpuz. Which, I believe, is 2:1.

Also, when running tests, make sure that you shut down any background apps that may be running as they'll use mem and resources.

Good luck and let me know if you need anything else. --You rig looks AWESOME!

For the few of you guys who pm'ed me about my front panel lcd's not working. They just started working. Why? I have no idea. Just booted up this morning and they came on--been on ever since (even after reboots).

I have NO IDEA how/why this is the case, but I have heard the EXACT same story from 2 other tsunami dream owners.

Oh well...they're on now.

Nice rig! Nice memory benchmark! I've only got my memory to 8884 MB/s. But I don't think I have the best memory for anything higher.

Update:

Returned my Viewsonic VP201b to newegg and took the plunge for a Sony SDM-P234/b 23" Widescreen LCD.

/drools
/looks at monitor
/craps pants
/looks at monitor again
/induces coma

I'll post a mini-review and some pics in a lil' bit. But for now, let's just say it's rather perfect.

i don't really like the tsunami case though.. looks too much like a cheap knockoff of the Cooler Master WaveMaster

that is a real kick ass system. its about a million times better than what i can afford. if your wife beats the heck out of you and you are too brain-damaged to use it, you can send it this way.

man where the heck do ppl get their MONEY! super jealous. at least your wife lets you spend that much money, that is something i am still workin on with my wife.

Yea...cooler master is a pretty sweet case. But in the end, I just liked the tsunami better. Just a matter of personal preference.

I'm going to wait for a couple years until dual core is fully supported. Right off, it won't offer the substantial gains that the price will demand. But, if it does, I can always grab a dc mobo and another fx55 .

Are you joking?

Take back a 16ms 23" HD Widescreen LCD for a crt? Do you smoke AND eat crack?

I'm with him.
I have a 19" 16 ms LCD for reading but a 22" CRT now for gaming.
You still can't touch a CRT for gaming.
BTW PIC's of my rig

PIC 1
PIC 2
PIC 3
PIC 4

Dual water system, hence the two different colors of tubes.
The 6800 U is on it's own system.
The CPU is on a dual 120mm radiator located in the bottom of the case.

Nice system BTW

Your memory scores could be a lot better.
You are currently using a command rate of 2t, your system will easily support a 1T. Your memory score in Sandra should be near 6000

Sorry....I'm on new ground when it comes to any kinda real oc'ing. How would I do this? Is it just as simple as changing one bios setting from 2t -> 1t?

btw- wth is 1t anyway?

Man, that's fast for a uniproc system.
For comparison, my dual 1.6 Xeons @ 2.8GHz get
CPU Arith - 27,573
CPU Multi - 63,714

Keep in mind that Sandra is running enough threads to take advantage of each processor fully - Your multi benchmark vs. mine is simply incredible!

(Of course I paid less for my Xeon rig than you paid for just your FX-55, but that was a freak one-in-a-million occurance)

Okay, so silverback's got me thinking...What else needs to be tweaked in my BIOS?

So, for those of you geniuses out there, what would give me a performace boost w/o frying my rig?

BIOS 1
BIOS 2
BIOS 3
BIOS 4
BIOS 5
My CPU is set to Auto OC.

Those are pretty much the important pages of my BIOS (at least I think ).

Thanks in advance for any help and advice!

Sadly, the 1T memory change hasn't seemed to affect my 3DMark05 CPU scores... Oh well.

Any BIOS tweak recomendations?

Just looked at all your BIOS shots, your good to go.
The difference in my benchmark to yours is simply my default gpu 450 /memory 1200 .
My default is 450/1200.

I'll be moving to the NF4 when it comes out.
I'm hopiing that they will have a 940 pin part as I have a FX53 940 pin as well in a SK8V.

Wow! How do you get those speeds on your gpu? Artic Cooler? Water cooling? I get some SERIOUS artifacts if I go above where I'm at now. Especially when I use Auto OC, the men in proxycon from 3DMark05 grow into porcupines. But when I get out, my temps aren't too bad--around 65 C.
