I'm with him.
I have a 19" 16 ms LCD for reading but a 22" CRT now for gaming.
You still can't touch a CRT for gaming.
BTW PIC's of my rig

PIC 1
PIC 2
PIC 3
PIC 4

Dual water system, hence the two different colors of tubes.
The 6800 U is on it's own system.
The CPU is on a dual 120mm radiator located in the bottom of the case.

Nice system BTW

whats your ultra overclock ?

The card idles at 45C and at load is around 55C

Looked up FX-55 on newegg and it showing it being $800-$900. Am I reading that right? Killer system but I wouldnt give $800-$900 for just a CPU even if I was rich. It would have to cook, clean and drive me places for that price.

Anyway once again killer system.

You get what you pay for.....
We had a contest at PCPitStop for the fastest PC, which included it's online scoring and 3DMark 2001 scores.
The FX chips owned, while up against P4's on vapochills at 4.3 GHz.

The Intel P4 extreme edidtion is another $200 ($1000+) and can't touch an FX51, let alone a FX53 like mine or FX55 like Stangs.

Yea...that'd be quite nice. However, Anytime I approach the 445/1350 I start to see some artifacts. My temp is fine, but there is some artifacting in the first proxycon game test.

Is this normal for an aircooled 6800 Ultra? My 'Detect Optimal Settings' always detects a higher number, but it always gives 3dmark05 artifacts! AND when I turn on 'Auto OC', I get a HUGE distortion where the people grow large spikes from there back....but again, my temp hits the high 60's (which I didn't think was too bad.)

So what 'little tweaking' would you suggest?

Thanks!!!!

btw- at least my cpu score wins

Those PCMark04 scores seem a bit low. I get a score of 5207 with a (9800pro @ stock), Intel 540, 1mb L2 cache @ 3.443ghz, 215Mhz FSB, Corsair XL 1024mb ddr400 ram cas2.5, 3, 3, 8), WinXP SP2, Catalyst 4.12 betas, DirectX 9.0c, WD Raptor hard drive.

I agree. However, I am not able to run the gpu part of the PCMark benchmark b/c it crashes evertime. Therefore I just disable that whole suite of tests and just use the rest. This could have something to do with it. What are your individual scores?

Thanks for the input!

Okay...scratch this. This had to of been a problem with the 67.02 drivers. I'm running the WHQL 67.20 drivers now and this is completely gone along w/any artifacts @ Auto OC settings. However I'm only getting a score of around 5250. Sadness abounds in my heart.

Nope...

From CPUz
Instructions: MMX+, 3DNow +, SSE, SSE2, x86-64

Am I missing out on something? How do I enable this?

Thanks.

Thanks for running those again. But that seems about right compared to my rig. Intel is usually ahead in synthetic benchmarks like Sandra. Thanks for sharing!

Yea, the case isn't the quietest by any mean! Easily, the loudest part of my rig is the blue 120mm fan on the back. It's not terrible, but it's not quiet. I'd love to change it out w/a Vantec Stealth blue led fan, but I don't think that they make them. Other than that, the whole rig runs pretty quiet. Good luck.

Okay...so sadly it appears that my 1T timings are unstable in anything besides windows and 3DMark05. When I run Doom3, HL2, etc, the computer locks up in the first frame. Any suggestions?

Your 1 Gb OCZ Plat Rev 2 DDR are rated at 1T timings aren't they?
My Corsair is, I just took it for granted that OCZ was to as it's very good ram.

Try boosting the VDIMM by .1

Worked!...I was running @ 1.5. My ram is rated for 1.75...so now I'm running at 1.8 w/no problems.

Thanks!
