Yea...I'm in the process of shopping around for some new speakers. I'm holding off b/c I'm trying to figure out if the wife is going to allow me to run 5.1 in the study.

Any suggestions? I've heard the logitech's rock.

And as for the $3000 system....it wasn't. Check my earlier post on pg. 2 for the cost.

Get the Fluance 5.1 SX-HTB system for $259
and find a $150 amp somewhere on ebay.

too late....already ordered some Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1's.....I don't think I'll be disappointed.

Never heard of Fluance. However, I hadn't heard of Athena a couple of years ago, and now they power my entertainment center. (they rock)

Just for someone curious, Flunance make's very good speakers for the price, their not top of the line speakers, their just a fantastic value, and should always be a consideration for someone who doesn't want to spend alot of money on a home theater.

FX5900 Ultra (originally a geforce4)
320W psu
no aftermarket cooling
crap-of-an-ugly-case

Needless to say...the new rig is slightly faster.

ps - Is anyone else urinating on themselves in anticipation of hl2 @ midnight? I've had to start wearing depends.

i got a 3500 winchester
asus a8v
x800xt

and in 3dmark05 stock i get 5699.
stress test at 1280x1024 4xAA 8xAF i get 154fps.

when i had my gt @ ultra i got;

3d05 5122
stress test (same settings) 103fps.

Uhhhh....was that a typo? Did you mean w/the GT you get 4699 and w/the ultra you got 5122?

If not....how?

naw that was my GT overclocked to ultra speeds. thats what i meant.

the 5699 score is from my stock x800xt.

i traded my gt for a x800xt.

I am sure its nice but my P4 3.2 smokes it in the PC MARK 05 SCORE 5900 4 me, And I completely blows it away in pc mark 04 you got better sissandra scores . wrong speakers i know because i had same set burned the amp out 2 times talked to tech he said they had problems with the amps. if you dought my p4 blew you away in futurmark scores mine is 3.2 GHz Under RAID COMPUTERS There are quit a few AMD 64 's ahead of me but way way more behind and u thought u had speed. Well after you redid sissandra i would have to say mine is faster there also multi media 24678/34214 arith. 9691-4019/7144 memory4937/4954 all the test mentioned are run with crucial ballistic my corsair BH-5 is about 8% faster in all benches . your last sisandra no. 5 not even close to the intels!!!!!!!!! I do really like your system very tasty but i am intel kinda guy so forgive my comparsion i just get so angry at how fast AMD 64's aren't intel is just as fast and way better at O/C

I want to see screenshots on how it looks on your system.

Do you have FRAPS installed?

You can fps bench any real-world game with it. And you can do a screenshot with avg fps on the top right corner of your screen.

the lowest it drop is around 39 when it's near all the rotating 'thingys'. And it hits about 230-240 at the exit.

I just finished a VERY similar system, however I'm not seeing as high results as you. I think part of it can be attributed to the graphics cards I'm using (from previous system).

Reason I am posting is to ask for your BIOS settings?
What are your mem settings? OC?

The 6800 Ultra will make a ton of difference in your computer KodeGuru..and if you are gaming with multiple screens then the fps will drop a ton.

I don't do too much gaming, however enjoy the occasional quake3 run..

Questions.
I use 3 lcd monitors for work and understand it kills fps.
What is my best option for performance with 3 lcds?
How will the Wildcat Realizm 800 perform compared to the 6800 in a system like mine?
