Hi, I am currently looking to build a new computer that I will be using for mostly
gaming and some web development work (visual studio, photoshop, silverlight, etc.).
I will also do some light overclocking. I dont plan on upgrading later down the
road, as I am also building for the "future". (Diablo3)
I have narrowed down my list and I was hoping for some feedback.
My budget is $1500 (but less is better of course), and I will need everything.
Nothing is getting reused, and this includes monitor.
Everything is in canadian dollars and I will be buying from Canada. Mainly NCIX.
I plan to get everything this weekend.
Heres what I got so far:
Already Bought, since they were surprise specials and thats the cheapest I have
ever seen it for both. Espcially powersupply because reg. price was $250.
Power Supply: Seasonic M12D 750W EPS12V 20/24PIN ATX Modular Power Supply Active
PFC 80PLUS 8PIN PCI-E 120MM Fan - $99.99
CPU: Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz Quad Core - $179.99
Need to get:
Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D-E Pro LGA1156 P55 DDR3 - $195.95
RAM: G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL Ripjaws PC3-12800 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 -
$99.99
Video Card: Powercolor PCS+ Radeon HD 5850 760MHZ 1GB 4.2GHZ GDDR5 2XDVI HDMI DP
PCI-E Video Card W/ Cod MW2 - $309.99
DVD-Writer: Samsung SH-S223L/BEBS 22X SATA Black DVD Writer Lightscribe - $24.99
Hard-Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 6GB/S - $87.99
Case: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition ATX Mid Tower Case Black - $39.99
Case Fan: Noctua NF-P12-1300 120MM Ultra Quiet Cooling Fan 1100-1300RPM - $19.99
Monitor: Samsung P2370H 23IN 16:9 Widescreen LCD Monitor Black 1920X1080 70000:1
2MS DVI HDMI - $219.89
Total after taxes: $1430.96 CAD
So my few questions are.
1. Is the motherboard good? I haven't read many forum posts about this board vs the
gigabyte ud4p. And not many people have chosen this board in their builds. I chose
this board because of the sata3/usb3 sharing of pci-e lanes problem that occurs in
the gigabyte board. Or does anyone suggest a better/cheaper alternative?
2. How about the videocard? I dont know much about PowerColor, but i have been
reading some reviews with this card and it seems to be great. Can anyone give some
feedback or recommendations?
Thanks!
