I hate 3D movies, especially when they are filmed to use the gimmicky garbage of the technology.
I did not find Godzilla's 3D to be gimmicky, but then again I've also made peace with 3D.

Saw it last night. I had very high expectations for the movie and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. It is well made in terms of building suspense over the first hour, and I thought the character development (particularly Cranston's) was very effective, but there are severe pacing problems and the way it was edited took away most of the real fear. I also felt the lead was pretty charmless, which stood in sharp contrast to the empathy that Cranston and Binoche had built up. Overall I would give it a 3/5.
"Did you forget? It's your birthday!" *smooch smooch smooch!* It just felt so... odd... especially since she just mentioned it to him earlier... like 10 seconds before that earlier.
Cranston was clearly frazzled by the shit going on at the factory, which explains that whole scene. I mean he totally forgot his birthday.
I'm really surprised they killed off Cranston so early. Honestly, the character that truly got the emotional investment going was Godzilla - you actually felt bad for the guy.
Yeah, it was a bummer to just see his character die in such a sudden and arguably anticlimactic way. I agree with you about Godzilla though. I recall thinking, "No! Godzilla, get up!!!" after the building fell on him, and "No! Godzilla, you can do eeet, bite his fricken' head off!" when they started double teaming him. Then when he started glowing, and I was a bit confused as to what was going on!
totally agree that they spent waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time on stuff OTHER THAN the thing that they named the movie after. Almost the first whole hour doesn't have any monsters whatsoever let alone Godzilla. It's a monster movie, give me monsters, don't give me some stupid drama about the family stuff, that should have been secondary to the monsters but they made it more important. The actual monster parts were very redeeming though, great effects and as usual 3D sucks, added nothing so don't worry about needing to see it in 3D. Save your money. Too bad this movie was lacking monster action, would have made it a much better movie.
Go see Jaws. Tell me how many times you see the shark in the first hour. Then tell us how it sucked because there wasn't enough of the shark.
Legendary has confirmed a sequel to Godzilla for 2016 release.

All I got say is, he is bad ass. The movie story line is well written and the movie is well acted. Best movie so far this year. They got this one right, it totally kicks ass.

So is the consensus that 3D version is much better than 2D? or worth it? I've never seen a 3D movie in a theater. Should I do it for Godzilla?
