I think I would have a hard time not curling eight of the ten fingers while my hands were in the air.
Meh.
I always hop out of the car and wander around to the back to chat to them. Unless it's raining, buggered if I'm getting out in the rain.
There is that.Yea, but you don't have retards that think they're SEALs, but wouldn't even pass the written application.
Yeah, agree with Viper, I was always taught to do so; No sudden moves, hands where they can see'em, answer clearly and to the point
Yeah, agree with Viper, I was always taught to do so; No sudden moves, hands where they can see'em, answer clearly and to the point... and it all made sense, seems common sense. I never saw the police as any type of threat, in my experience, if I am courteous, using common sense and doing nothing wrong, they will just do their job and leave. They are the police, don't try to be a smart ass.
i am astounded by police videos where someone gets pulled over and immediately starts to get out of their car. i do not understand why people do that.
I like the idea
of no police whatsoever.
I also agree with Viper. And, they're not stopping you for shit and giggles (usually) - they're stopping you because you did something wrong.
Police are only a threat to stupid people, and the whole world is generally a threat to them anyway. Show your hands, don't do anything stupid.

There is that.
Then again they don't really have to worry about the guy in the car pulling a gun on them I suppose.

Right, because cops never pull people over for being the wrong color in the wrong neighborhood.
Sorry I should have phrased that better.Statistically speaking, they don't really have to worry about that here either. More innocent citizens are killed by cops than the other way around, but you don't see the cops trying to pass laws to make citizens any safer from cops.

I don't really have a big problem with this. I do it already as common courtesy - Windows down, dome lights on if it's dark, hands on the wheel until they are beside me and in conversation.
It's a stressful situation for everyone involved and making sure they know immediately that I'm not going to be a problem is in everyone's best interest.
It has served me well thus far, twice now I've left stop lights in the dark at full throttle with a cop right behind me, including once with wheelspin at the top of first. No tickets.
