I beg of your experience and indulgence.
Almost three years ago, I got my first "real" cell phone. It went well with the nomadic, military lifestyle.
Said handset has been beaten to hell, and frequently fails to receive any useful signal.
I'm currently month to month with Verizon.
I need something better. I text from time to time, nothing exceeding 60/month; I spend little time on the phone generally, but I *need* better reception than my beat to hell phone gives. I'm not thrilled with the prospect of a penalty fee pushing $200 for breaking contract w/ verizon, if I get one of their CDMA phones.
What ought I go for?
Also: Am not adverse to getting a phone via private sale and activating - anywhere to look for a CDMA handset?
