Q9300 @ 3.4 GHz
Cooler is a Xigmatek S1283 Heatpipe
(Note that RealTemp shows 10C lower than the figures given by this benchmark ans well as some other programs. Highest core temperature recorded: 57C, per RealTemp v2.48)

Friend's setup, which is almost identical to mine: Q9300 3.15GHz @ 1.16V (but crummy memory)!

Thanks - I did check the log and nothing was written. I also did a full install, including the external plug-ins (which I also wasn't crazy about). My guess is that even though the benchmark appeared to run and the videos are fully viewable, Vista's permissions scheme prevented the benchmark from committing its results to a file.

Thanks for making this effort, by the way - it's an interesting thing and I appreciate it.

I rip Blu-Rays to my hard disc sometimes in 1080P and the files are huge! (Most of the stuff on Blu-Ray is still crap, but the BBC nature documentaries are priceless) I have to find a utility that allows me to compress the files somewhat and still maintain quality. Another fun Google search for me...

@dadofamunky - you did a "full install"??? The only install you need to do is unrar the files and install avisynth. No external plug-ins are needed. Are you running the latest version? This new one will even detect if UAC is present on vista...

@ST - thanks man, got it.

drat, you beat me to the "I hate uac" statement...As a user of vista for 2 weeks and xp/2000 for 8 years, I can honestly say that uac could be one of the most annoying things in the history of mankind. it's right up there with pop rocks and stalker x-girlfriends in my book.

btw, I had absolutely no problems running this benchmark on an xp pro sp2, sp pro sp3, and vista sp1 machine.

Here's my Phenom at 2.8GHz. I still haven't touched the northbridge/L3 cache speed, I guess overclocking those will improve the Phenom's IPC. Anyway, looks like the Phenom does ok in this benchmark, infact all quads seem to do great. *edit - I also noticed that the P4's seem to really struggle with this one, and the A64's seem to hold their own vs. the C2D's. Anyone know why that is considering the C2D's are generally a decent bit faster clock for clock vs. the A64's?

Pushed up the multiplier another .5x for a 2.9GHz run. Still at the stock 2.0GHz northbridge/L3 cache, I'll finally get around to pushing that up a few hundred MHz and see how that seems to affect performance while keeping my overall clock somewhere in the 2.8-2.9GHz range for comparrison some time soon.

Slowspyder you really should crank your HTT as far as possible, it really lets these things fly at lower clock speeds.

Wow! Nice... your processor looks to be almost 10% quicker then mine at almost the same clock speed (2.93GHz to 2.90Ghz) with the northbridge/L3 pushed a few hundred MHz beyond my stock 2.0GHz. Very nice bump in performance!

I hope you don't mind one more result from my machine. I pushed the Hypertransport up to overclock the northbridge/L3 cache while keeping my core speed similar to where it was earlier. Looks like this improves the IPC of the Phenom quite a bit!

got it, thanks... you should be able to push 8x400 no problems assuming good chip and cooling. Many are doing 440+ with this chip.
