New Homebuilt PC won't power on

I just bought all new components for my first time trying to build my own PC. Except, my friend had a spare case and power supply which I figured I would save money on by just reusing.

New:
Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus 755 mobo
BFG 7950GT video card
C2D E6600 2.4G 775
Corsair XMS2 (2 x 1GB) DDR2 SDRAM 800 (PC2 6400)
WD Caviar SE16 250GB 7200RPM SATA
DVD_BURN SONY NEC

Reuse:
Antec NeoHE 480 PSU
Big Case (forget the name)

I got everything put together and plugged into the correct connections. I flip the switch on the PSU and the little green LED turns on, on the mobo but when I hit the switch on the front of the case it does nothing. No fans, no noises, nothing on the LCD? nothing. My friend who has built his PCs from scratch before doesn?t really know what is wrong either.

So, I bought a new case and PSU because I really didn?t have faith anymore in the reused items. Tried new PSU (BFG 650W SLI ready) in the old case... same results (exactly the same). Tried new PSU and new Antec case? same result.

Do I just have a bad motherboard?
Please help.

Thanks

Have you double checked the connector for the power switch? It is possible that it ended up on the wrong pins, perhaps even backwards... not sure if backwards matters, but double check that as well.

I thought that might have been it too... but i tried switching the connector to both positions on each case.

Hrm, I would go ahead and RMA the board then.

It's a long shot BUT did you put raisers on the mother board? If the solder pins on the bottom of the motherboard are touching the case it will not start up.

OP, take it out of the case and set it on a wooden table, plug the CPU, RAM, graphics card and PSU into the motherboard and see if it will display anything on the monitor. Try shorting the power connector pins yourself incase the power switch isn't working.
